The Itchyworms have recently announced their three-city tour in Japan this October 2023!

The mini tour will kick off at the LIVE HOUSE GATTACA in Kyoto on October 6, followed by two more stops in Osaka (The Blarney Stone and Sengokudaitouryou) on October 7 and 8, respectively.

Prior to the announcement, The Itchyworms performed at the Tokyo Beyond Festival on November 22, 2022. They have also participated at the Kansai Music Conference in a virtual setting while delivering an exclusive live performance at the Big Baby Studios in Manila.

“There will be a lot of Filipino fans who will travel two or three hours just to see us live, so we will still be playing some hits,” the Di Na Muli hitmakers share in a collective statement. ‘We will also be playing some other songs that we think will be appreciated by the Japanese musicians and audiences. We feel that music is universal, and whether we sing in Filipino or in English, the audience will love it.”

This dramedy boasts an outstanding cast led by Zanjoe Marudo (366) and Elijah Canlas (Gameboys Level-Up Edition, Kalel, 15), taking on the roles of brothers who have nothing in common. Dolly de Leon, a nominee for both BAFTA and Golden Globe awards, portrays their beloved mother. 

The talented Cebuano director Kerwin Go (Mina-Anud) is passionate about this retelling and its important message. “It’s a celebration of family, unconventional families, blended families. Maningning Miclat Book Of Poetry Winners Out Now

An anthology of Filipino poetry by 10 grand winners of the biennial Gawad Maningning Miclat from 2003 to 2021 titled "Ningning at Liwanag" is now available in the market. 

Published by MMAFI and Erehwon Artworld Corporation, the hardbound, full-color book with Maningning Miclat’s painting as cover and 10 photographs by poet and writer Mario I. Miclat to mark the 10 poetry collections, received a Publication Grant for 2023 from the National Book Development Board (NBDB). Book and cover design is by veteran artist and poet Fidel Rillo.

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has further beefed up the lineup of the country’s number one pickup with its introduction of the new Hilux GR Sport (GR-S).

Taking cues from the Dakar-winning GR Hilux, the New Hilux GR-S now comes with a tougher design through a wide-tread body, matte black GR-S overfenders, 17-inch alloy GR design wheels with All-Terrain Tires, and the GR Aero sports bar.

The new Hilux GR-S is also wider by 120 mm and taller by 65 mm. All in all, the exterior of the New Hilux GR-S features a more rugged look than its predecessor, giving a better impression of its improved generational characteristics of quality, durability, and reliability.

Under the hood, the New Hilux GR-S is powered by a 2.8L Diesel, 4-Cylinder, 16-Valve DOHC Variable Nozzle Turbo engine with an air-cooled intercooler. It now features an improved maximum output of 224PS and a maximum torque of 550Nm. Additionally, the New Hilux GR-S includes GR front and rear disc brakes with GR brake calipers, and monotube shock absorbers, enhancing overall driving experience on or off the roads.

Inside, the New Hilux GR-S is clad in GR-S suede and leather seats. A GR-S emblem embellishes the leather steering wheel, while the leather door trims with technical mesh and red seatbelts add to the overall sporty appearance of the interior. New amenities such as the 9-inch Display Audio with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a Wireless Charger add spirit to every adventure in the New Hilux GR-S, while functions such as Smart Entry and Push Start System offer convenience in each ride.

Now with a Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), the New Hilux GR-S is as safe as it is exhilarating to drive. It is also equipped with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) and other safety features such as a Panoramic View Monitor (PVM), Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), and Downhill Assist Control (DAC).

Directed by Um Tae-hwa, Concrete Utopia is loosely based on Part 2 of the hit webtoon “Joyful Outcast” (“Pleasant Neighbors”) and stars an ensemble of A-list Korean actors including Lee Byung-hun, Park Seo-jun, Park Bo-young, Park Ji-hu, Kim Do-yoon and Kim Sun-young. It is a disaster thriller about the aftermath of a devastating earthquake. The film will follow the story that begins when the survivors gather at Hwang Gung Apartments, the only building left standing in an earthquake-ravaged Seoul.

Filipino pop-rock sensation Jed Baruelo continues to gain significant traction in the Philippines with the success of “Nahuhulog,” a song that the singer-songwriter claims to be about the unexplainable feeling of falling in love and “being completely entranced by someone.”

To date, the song has stayed within the top 20 of the Spotify Philippines Top 200 charts for more than a month now and has gone viral on TikTok—thanks to the fan-driven videos that utilized swooning parts of the material for a more romantic effect.

As well as featuring the two recently released singles, Bitter Sweet Love is James back to his very best, producing thirteen bites of world class music. Eclectic pop artist ena mori, fast-rising singer-songwriter syd hartha, and multi-awarded musician Joey Benin of Side A will be joining befriending my tears, a Clara Benin concert at the Music Museum on September 22, 2023 (Friday), from 7 pm onwards.

Both ena and syd will be performing as guest acts, while Joey Benin will reunite with his daughter Clara for a special segment. 

“ena mori and syd hartha are both favorites of mine and I always feel inspired whenever I watch them perform and I think that my fans will really enjoy their performances as well as they open the show,” shares the Filipino singer-songwriter. “Every time I have a big show, I always make sure to have my dad, Joey Benin, join me on stage to play a few songs. He’s made such a huge impact in my music and being able to play with him on stage is always a fun and humbling experience.”

Celebrating the release of her sophomore studio album, befriending my tears, with a show made specifically for her fans, the concert chronicles Benin’s journey as an artist coming to terms with self-acceptance and healing while showcasing musical maturity through years of experience and growth.

Disney and Pixar's "Elemental" Begins Streaming On Disney+ Sept 13

“Good Chemistry: The Story of Elemental” and “Carl’s Date” Also Hit the Streamer Sept. 13

Disney+ announced that the fiery young woman Ember and go-with-the-flow guy Wade from Disney and Pixar’s “Elemental” are venturing to the streamer next week. The original feature film begins streaming on Disney+ Sept. 13—also debuting that day is the making-of documentary “Good Chemistry: The Story of Elemental,” and Pixar Animation Studios’ short “Carl’s Date,” featuring the fan-favorite talking dog Dug.
