REEL DEAL: The LEGO Ninjago Movie

This is actually the second LEGO movie for the year where in we had the LEGO Batman Movie early this year. Like the LEGO movies, it aims to be comedic and creative as possible. The LEGO Ninjago Movie is derived from the toy series of the same title which is also called "Masters of Spinjustu".

Playful in nature, yet the film has a different feel compared with the first LEGO movies. The Ninja team is composed of  Nya, Zane, Jay, Cole, Kai, and Lloyd who are sworn to protect the city of Ninjago, The team are expert martial artists, bad-ass mech pilots, and also attends school when the city is not on the brink of destruction.

Jackie Chan also joins the movie providing martial arts expertise with his team along with the animators. He also voices Master Wu, who is the mentor of the Ninja team. Justin Theroux is Garmadon the main villain and the father of Lloyd, the green ninja.

If you watched the TV animated series, you will enjoy this one as it is filled with humor, nostalgia and fast-paced action. I really liked the Ninja Mechas which are in my wishlist for Christmas. Thus, the movie is great marketing tool as well.

Diego Luna Flirts with the Afterlife in "Flatliners"

Hot off the global box office hit Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Mexican actor Diego Luna stars as the intensely private and complex character of Ray in Columbia Pictures' new suspense thriller Flatliners (in Philippine cinemas Friday, Sept. 29).

In the film, five medical students, obsessed by the mystery of what lies beyond the confines of life, embark on a daring and dangerous experiment: by stopping their hearts for short periods of time, each triggers a near-death experience – giving them a firsthand account of the afterlife. But as their experiments become increasingly perilous, they are each haunted by the sins of their pasts, brought on by the paranormal consequences of trespassing to the other side.

“Ray is the only one of the group with real life experience,” explains producer Laurence Mark. “He’s older than the others, and he’s somewhat rougher around the edges. He didn’t grow up privileged, didn’t attend an Ivy League School. He was a fireman who saw a lot of pain and suffering. No Fury like a Celebrity Scorned - Tried and tested ways to offend a star

Entertainment Tonight hosts Kevin Frazier,
and Nancy O'Dell.
It’s one thing for reporters to ask celebrities about a few sensational tidbits—breakups, pregnancies, maybe some harmless gossip—to drum up interest for a simple promotional story; it’s another when they start asking questions that put the hapless star in a “bad light.”

Many famous personalities from actor Robert De Niro to pop singer Justin Bieber have had their share of cringe-worthy interviews that they’ve claimed to have made them feel upset. While it’s sometimes unclear why celebrities go on an outburst or walk out of an interview, there have been instances when questions got way too personal or were just plain provocative.

Bad celebrity interviews offer a valuable lesson in prudence: the best questions are perceptive, not intrusive. Let’s take a look at a few awkward moments that stars had to endure due to an interview gone astray:

Phytosterol in canola oil reduces the risk of coronary heart disease

Eating fried dishes does not have to be an unhealthy
experience with Golden Fiesta’s Canola Oil,
which is a rich source of the heart-healthy nutrient phytosterol.
Filipinos love fried foods. They love the crispy-crunchy sound these make with every bite, but they like the delightful taste of fried food—whether it’s chicken, beef, pork or fish—even better. How can else can you explain why Filipino families are big fans of fastfood chains that serve fried chicken, fried tapa, fried pork liempo, etc.?

This trend has raised the alarm among health advocates who associate frying with the liberal use of cooking oil, which is flagged as a product that is detrimental to one’s cardiovascular health.

Fortunately, not all cooking oils are the same, and not all of them are harmful to your body—not when you use the right one.
