Blah Blah Blogs: ONDOY Year One

Yes it been a year now, Many things had happened in my life that I could go back to the day Ondoy came. There was not  damage since we were at the 4th floor but after that day. There was also a series ofinfortunate events that happened to me and my family too. But for the people  directly affected by this event, their lives were changed forever.

Yes we say climate change, we said we are contributors, we are to blame... but was there anything done? For this year, the rain was not severe compared to last year. Are we waiting for another Ondoy to pass by and make another catastrophe? Did we really did measure to prevent this and make our cities safer place to live?

Just this year, Pakistan was also in peril as it experienced the same thing but on a much larger scale. They too are still in crisis, but after aid arrives and homes restored will we all become complacent of these things because we have experienced it?

To prepare is essential, and to have will is what most of us fail to do. I p…

Why Travel? I'll Tell You Why...

Tell me one person who does not want to travel, and I will say to him that you just lost the value of living...

Seriously, no one in the world does not like to travel. Because life is a big journey, whoever we are, we need to walk or travel from point A to point B somehow. People are not stationary to one position like plants, we are made to be animated and appreciate the vast and wide world we are living in. That is why, we do love traveling. And this journey never ends as we go to different phases in our lives, if it so, then you have to make the most of your travel experience. For many traveling could be a luxury, but its not the distance that make it special, its how one can savor and enjoy living in that place. Traveling can also be just a walk around the neighborhood that you have not yet discovered. If there is time and resources, then make the experience more unforgettable by trying new cuisine, going to new heights, enjoying what the world can offer. Philippine Travelis fun ye…

Jake Moore (Shia LaBeouf)  may be worth millions at a ludicrously young age but he is also keen to do some good in the world by investing in green energy amid a fascinating world intoxicated by the sheer thrill of as much money as possible. In Oliver Stone’s “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps,” LaBeouf’s Jake is a honest trader who gets embroiled in ominous financial dealings that is bound to spin dangerously out of control.  With Michael Douglas’ Award-wining role Gordon Gekko out of prison and Josh Brolin’s Breton James, “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” multiplies greed and avarice where there is no such thing as ‘enough.’ “Wall Street 2” steers Jake Moore (LaBeouf), a smart young proprietary trader into making millions at the venerable Keller Zabel Investments, run by Louis Zabel (Frank Langella), Jake’s mentor.  Jake’s girlfriend, Winnie (Carey Mulligan), meanwhile, is supportive of his driv…

Denzel Washington and Chris Pine team up in the upcoming action-thriller “Unstoppable” directed by Tony Scott.  Washington and Pine play train engineers whose lives are put at risk in an attempt to stop an unmanned long freight train carrying combustible liquids and poisonous gas enough to wipe out an entire city.             Based on actual events, the story centers on an experienced train engineer, Frank Barnes (Washington) who’s about to be laid off as part of company cutbacks while Chris Pine plays Will Gordon,  the newbie conductor hired to replace him.              Chris Pine who starred in the blockbuster movie “Star Trek” likens both movies in a recent interview with MTV.  “It (“Unstoppable”) also has the genetic code of the summer tentpole movie.  It’s fun and action-packed. And it’s got some really interesting, complex characters to kind of anchor the whole thing.  And Tony always talked about how the movie was like a train.  Once it gets going, it just does not stop,” Pine s…

Katolikong Kabataan: The Nativity of Mary

Today we celebrate the Nativity of Mary, one of the feast days in the Liturgical year. This is also special to Catholics worldwide. For me, its also a day fro reflection if we are faithful to God like Mary put her whole faith and obeyed his command. Her life was also a life lived well and served as an inspiration for people even of different faiths, if she was not born, who will give birth to Jesus? Now its the 'Ber' months, its good to reflect on the works of Mary and what she has given to the world.  If you do have time, please pray the Rosary, as you do offer a rose to the blessed virgin as she also prays with us and leads us to his son, Jesus.

Angelina did it again as she kicked butt hard with a dash of SALT. This movie is one of the awaited films this year and it did not disapoint its viewers as it proved to be worthy of being a action film to remember for life. SALT follows the life of a CIA Agent Evelyn Salt as she is set up into a spy conspiracy that involves a assasination attempt of a world leader, in an event they call Day X. This movie made me think that the USSR conspiracy is still alive and will leave you puzzed at first and craving for more at the end.
The film also stars , Liev Shcreiber, who also stared as Sabertooth from the X men origins: Wolverine, as Salt's partner in the CIA. Chiwetel Ejiofor is Peabody, who also works for the ONCIX  is on a mousehunt for the alleged spy. What made the chase more interesting is how Salt went into a transformation and also as a master of different arts. You will also love the transformations that she did in this movie, very sleek, classy yet shows an aura of a heroine.

Happy Birthday Blogger!

It has been 11 years since blogger started to invade the world wide web and I am fortunate to be with this site for more than 7 years now, meaning I started blogging since high school even up to now. I just found out recently that there is a Blogger Fiesta event for the people who blog using
Kuya Azarel got some sponsors for the event. This was on Fully Booked Bonifacio High Street in Global City Taguig.  This Blogger event was attended by more than 80 bloggers in Manila, including me. It was a night filled with fun talk as everyone would introduce themselves and give their sites. There was also also three speakers (Jonel Uy, Fritz Villafuerte, and Jomar Hillario). Gieser Mclang also gave away items as it has been one of the agencies that actively invite bloggers to their events.

Also kuya Az officially launched the Manila Bloggers' Network which is also a good time since most of the bloggers ae present. It was a very fun night with Pizzas by Greenwich, Krispy kreme Do…

Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway previously left jaws dropped in the adult movie “Brokeback Mountain.” Years later, after both leaped from one box-office hit to another, Gyllenhaal and Hathaway reunite in the upcoming romantic comedy “Love And Other Drugs” for a slap of the awe-stunning realities in adult relationships.
Directed by Edward Zwick and based on Jamie Reidy’s humorous memoir “Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra Salesman,” the movie tells the story of Reidy’s stint as Pfizer salesman in the 1990s. As a salesman for Pfizer and considered to be the Jerry Maguire of the prescriptive drug world, Reidy (played by Gyllenhaal) gets involved with Maggie (Hathaway) who won’t let anything or anyone tie her down.
Romancing each other within the political and social context of medical breakthroughs, Jamie and Maggie’s evolving relationship takes them both by surprise as they find themselves under the influence of the ultimate drug: love.
“Love and Other Drugs” opens January 2011 in…
