Anne Hathaway Plays the "It Girl" in "Ocean's 8" (Opens June 13)

The target of Sandra Bullock’s all-women scheme in “Ocean’s 8” is The Met Gala, but they won’t be taking cash.  Instead, they plan to steal the Toussaint: a unique diamond necklace so valuable it stays locked away in an impenetrable vault in the bowels of the Cartier mansion.  The key is to convince Cartier to let it out of the vault.

And the only way to do that is to put it around the neck of this year’s designated Gala Chair: current “It girl,” Daphne Kluger, whom Oscar-winner Anne Hathaway plays to perfection.

Ocean's 8 - More Than Just Girl Power

It's now turn for the ladies  to take a shot in a heist. And this time, they only need 8 people. Ocean's 8 relives the family thieving business with diverse recruits with specific of set of skills.

Debbie Ocean (Bullock) is Danny Ocean's sister who has also planned her own large scale heist with the initial help of Lou (Blanchett) to recruit all the people they need to pull off a steal of jewelries from the MET Gala. They came across Amita (Kailing), Rose Weil (Bonham-Carter), Tammy (Paulson), Nine Ball (Rihanna), and Constance (Awkwafina) to put up a small yet effective team.

Their target is the Toussaint which is worth $150 Million which will be worn on the neck of high-profile celebrity Daphne Kluger (Hathaway). Though it may look simple, but the venue and security are of top class which makes thing complicated.

Just like the Ocean's Trilogy fashion, the film boast of sophisticated planning and execution along with the colorful characters gives it charm. However, since it is a spin off to the Ocean's series, things are quite predictable.  It did not have a something new that it can be remembered, despite the lovely and talented cast.

It’s been more than 10 years since an Ocean-led crew has conned their way to millions of dollars.  Now a new gang is banding together to carry out the ultimate heist.  But this time, it’s Debbie Ocean (Bullock) masterminding the plan, and she’ll only require eight supremely skilled women to pull it off.

Q&A with Anne Hathaway for "Alice Through the Looking Glass"

Anne Hathaway returns as Mirana, the mild-mannered, kind White Queen, and the beautiful younger sister to the spiteful Red Queen, in Disney's fantasy adventure “Alice Through the Looking Glass” in Philippine cinemas July 6th.

In the film, Alice (Mia Wasikowska) returns to the whimsical world of Underland and travels back in time to save the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp).

REEL DEAL: Alice Through The Looking Glass REVIEW

It was years since this long awaited sequel of live-action adaptation of Alice in Wonderland has finally made the next story of Underland, but indeed worth it as it was able to build a new story. The visually appealing and adventure-laced journey of Alice will open up the imagination of many with Alice Through The Looking Glass.

This retelling of the story of Lewis Carol, brings in more stories and adversaries to the unusual yet colorful world beyond realty. I remember that Alice in Wonderland was one of the earliest movies I reviewed back then. It was way back in 2010, now it has been 6 years since the last movie and it can observed that some of the original cast have aged. But since fantasy would give an interesting turn and texture for the characters, the visuals helped in keeping the vibe of Underland alive.

Since there are new characters introduced such as Time (Sacha Baron Cohen), and it does involve going back and forth time to fix something that is affecting the jolly Mad Hatter which has turned completely not himself lately. This is also one of the last films of Alan Rickman who played Absalom.

REEL DEAL: The Intern REVIEW

We usually think that new will always clashes with the old, and it does, however would there be a point that they can find themselves complementing each other. With one has the experience and wisdom of the industry, while the other has the vigor and the innovation. The Intern gives us that scenario.

Led by two Academy Award winners Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway, The Intern brings the world of business with two different perspectives. One is a successful online businesswoman who built an shopping empire in just a few months, the other is a retired man who had decades of experience in an obsolete occupation is now hired as part of the Senior internship program, and yes that is senior citizen age.

With co-workers of the young age range, young and energetic, Ben Whitaker (De Niro) adjusts to the new style of working which is very far from the classy and formal way of working. But beyond work, Ben was also involved with Jules Ostin's (Hathaway) personal life and his life skills would probably come in handy for these situations.

Anne Hathaway stars opposite De Niro as Jules Ostin, the founder of an e-commerce site, About the Fit, in Warner Bros. Pictures' new drama comedy “The Intern.”

In the film directed Nancy Meyers (“It's Complicated,” “The Holiday”), seventy-year-old widower Ben Whittaker has discovered that retirement isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Seizing an opportunity to get back in the game, he becomes a senior intern at an online fashion site that's growing at hyper speed. When owner and founder Jules agreed to have senior interns join the company, however, she assumed that meant seniors in college.

REEL DEAL: Anne Hathaway Starret "SONG ONE" Helms By First-Time Director Kate Barker-Froyland

The music came before the images in the upcoming endearing romantic movie “Song One” starring Anne Hathaway directed by Kate Barker-Froyland who also worked as an assistant to the director in “Devil Wears Prada.”

“Song One” tells the story of how music connects and transforms people.  Anne Hathaway brings a soulful characterization of Franny in the movie where she plays an anthropologist doing research in Morocco and returns to New York when her brother Henry (Ben Rosenfield), a young musician, suffers an accident that leaves him comatose.  Being emotionally and geographically distant from Henry and their mom Karen (Mary Steenburgen), Franny finds herself reconnected to her family and begins to understand and appreciate the depth of her brother’s commitment to music.  She eventually sought out the performers and venues that Henry loved, in the course of her quest, she meets James Forester (Johnny Flynn), Henry’s idol whose success and fame belie a shy and private man.  Soon, a strong romantic connection sparks between Franny and James, set against the backdrop of Brooklyn’s modern-folk music scene.

REEL DEAL: Interstellar REVIEW

Space movies are not new to us, as well as the thousand of theories of the universe and man's endless desire to explore the vast universe which we only have gotten as far as the moon (or to some was believed it was a hoax). Thus our fascination with the stars grew and is a favorite genre for many of us. Now Christopher Nolan (Batman Trilogy, Inception) has come up with a new movie which is out of this world and will traverse the galaxy with a mission to save mankind.
