Did The Flash Ran Beyond Its Challenges?

With the DCEU down to its last movies as it revives into a new era, we appreciate the DC fim closing the saga and the characters it brought, giving us powerful action and amusement  with powerful superheroes and villains. And it has been rumored that the new movie The Flash directed by Andres Muschietti will impact the current universe and it transitions into a new saga.

Headlined by Ezra Miller who played Barry Allen/The Flash in the Justice League, many wanted that all members should have their own individual movies. In the comics, The Flash is indeed pivotal with the change between universes that will also introduce the faces of our beloved superheroes. It was also impressive that Ezra Miller did differentiate the two Barrys thinking that they are separate actors.

Changing the timeline is not something new in superhero movies but they did weave a cohesive story that addresses also other time travel laws, paradoxes, and connects them into the multiverse predicament as well. Though expect not all questions will be given an answer, the set up at least avoids any major plot holes that critics would like to pick on.

It all begins as Ferrell’s character, James, a ridiculously wealthy and entitled hedge fund manager with the biggest mansion and the hottest fiancée money can buy, is caught with his hand in the till. Summarily convicted of the kind of fraud that costs regular people their life savings, he then adds insult to injury by turning to the only person he can think of to help him prepare for lockup: his car detailer Darnell (Hart), a struggling but focused entrepreneur whom James automatically expects to have done time, statistically speaking, given Darnell’s age, his economic circumstances, and...

REEL DEAL: Inspirational Bestselling Memoir Adapted In "WILD"

A messed-up woman’s coming of age unfolds in cinemas in “Wild,” produced and starred in by Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon based on Cheryl Strayed’s memoir “Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail.”

Thinking she’d lost everything, Cheryl Strayed walked out of her broken-down life and into the deep wilderness on a 1,100-mile solo hike that would take her to the edge. “Wild” began with Cheryl Strayed’s own personal story – that of a woman still reeling from the sudden loss of her inspiring mother, a wrecked marriage and a headlong dive into unabashed self-destruction who decides to put a halt to it all and takes a seemingly preposterous adventure.  With zero outdoors experience, a monstrously heavy backpack and fueled by little but her own ragged will, Strayed set out to hike the PCT, the longest, toughest and wildest through-trail in America, completely alone.  Barely a few minutes into her trek, she considered quitting.  But she persevered and during those few months, she found reminders of joy, courage and beauty amid the fear, exhaustion and peril.  It was an adventure that helped her put her life back together again and emerge with a raw but remarkable story.

REEL DEAL: Hiking America's Roughest Trail For 94 Days In The "WILD"

Pacific Crest Trail, America’s wildest through-rail, with its infamous harsh passages, has recently rose to further prominence in the latest Reese Witherspoon starrer – “Wild,” based upon the personal accounts of Cheryl Strayed’s  journey to bring her life back together after losing everything that deeply meant to her.

Wilderness epics have been around since the beginning of cinema. But from the 1912 silent film “The Conquest of the Pole” to “Jeremiah Johnson” to “Into The Wild” to “127 Hours,” nearly all have traced the paths of men far from civilization.  But the fact that WILD takes a different, less expected direction drew a devoted group of filmmakers.

Says Witherspoon, who produced the film with her partner Bruna Papandrea:  “Wild” is about so many things that touch people.  It's about life, love, loss and family. It’s about how a woman who thought she was completely broken, but found a way to reconstitute herself.”

REEL DEAL: Owen Wilson Miniture Sized Hero In “NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: SECRET OF THE TOMB”

In “Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb,” Ben Stiller returns as security guard Larry Daley, together with a highly impressive group of comic actors. Owen Wilson is back as the irrepressible miniature cowboy Jedediah, along with his equally small buddy, the Roman general, Octavius, (Steve Coogan). Both are embroiled in the latest adventure, directed by Shawn Levy. As always, the legendary artifacts at New York’s Museum of Natural History come to life, but this time, problems arise when they start malfunctioning. The magic that keeps them alive is waning and Larry’s friends are in danger. Saving them involves an urgent trip to the British Museum in London.

While the first two films were set in the U.S., the new adventure takes the team to the United Kingdom. Owen Wilson and Steve Coogan, reprise their roles as the duo of American cowboy Jedediah and Roman Centurion Octavius, both miniatures from historic dioramas. They’re the smallest characters with the biggest friendship. Wilson says, “There has been an arc to our relationship. We started off sort of as adversaries, and now it’s evolved into more of a team. We’re practically a buddy comedy within a funny family movie.”
