Drei Raña Is The New OPM Artist To Watch Out For

It has been a while that we had fresh new faces for OPM. Not that we have a shortage of it, but they are just waiting to be discovered by music labels because of their talent, and with a lot of great talent out there it is indeed a competition. Finally PolyEast Records is now introducing their newest talent Drei Raña.

Though he looks like a simple guy with his guitar, his musical talent is charming and soothing that is what many love with OPM right now. He started with posting acoustic covers that gained millions of views, he also writes his own music.

Drei is a graduate BS Travel Management at the University of Santo Tomas and also won Mr. Tourism and Mr. UST in the year 2016. Aside from writing songs or singing with his guitar, he also enjoys cooking, beatboxing and dancing.

His online career took off when he was 19 when he uploaded his video, because of this he has now over 57K YouTube subscribers and 620K Facebook followers.  One of his well-received works is the popular song titled “Your Song,” a cover from the band Parokya Ni Edgar done in raw guitar playing skills. Later, Drei caught the attention of the well-known Filipino talk show host Boy Abunda who adopted Drei under his artist management agency. 

Drei took a big break of his musical career when he signed with PolyEast Records recently, joining roster of talents like Martin Nievera, Bamboo, Glaiza de Castro, TJ Monterde, Juan Miguel Severo and Sassa Dagdag. 

In March 2018, Drei released his first-ever single called “Ligaya”. The song was composed by Drei himself and showed his ability to write songs that connect with listener, which even gained 3M streams on Spotify.  

Since releasing his debut single with PolyEast Records, Drei’s success and maturity as an artist has grown by leaps and bounds. Drei’s new single, “Walang Labis, Walang Kulang” marks another chapter in the 23-year-old musician’s career, as PolyEast Records will be dropping its official music video soon. Walang Labis, Walang Kulang lyric video is now also on YouTube. 

“This phase of my career will be a big challenge for me. I have always been known as doing covers online but this time, I’m taking this game to a new level with original compositions,” he said.  

We are also waiting for a possible album or EP for Drei Raña this year which might contain the newest and freshest OPM hit that we all wanted to have. For now, we could settle with a great collaboration from fellow PolyEast artists.
