Finding love with John Lloyd & Bea’s One True Pair The Movie, a film from Jollibee Studios

It’s all in the journey

Many people dream of falling in love with the right person at the right time and making it last forever, but many are left disappointed yet continue searching while some give up and find other kinds of love that works for them.

Love might be a powerful and universal feeling yet it’s anything but simple--that is at the heart of the newest Jollibee Studios film, One True Pair The Movie, starring the country’s most iconic love team, John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo.

The film tells the story of Ian and Gela, two famous celebrities who were once a popular on-screen tandem for many rom-com movies over the years. Ian, dubbed the “Prince of Philippine Cinema,” took a short break from showbiz while Gela continued being a top celebrity.

REVIEW - One True Pair The Movie

Jollibee Studios has indeed made memorable short films called "Kwentong Jollibee" which also serves as another way of promoting the brand with stories that are so relatable. Many of which have moved many viewers to tears. And after years of showcasing stories set for various seasons, they now gave a new story that is bigger and brings in one of biggest loveteams in Philippine cinema.

Yes I am talking about John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo which made blockbuster films and memorable teleseryes. Now Jollibee Studios presents "One True Pair The Movie" which is the longest so far they have made. Though it's not a long as the usual films, it wants to remain with the balance close to the other Jollibee shorts yet long enough to give a meaningful story and character depth.

Directed by JP Habac, it's something new for the two yet also works as their dynamic as a loveteam is what bring people to watch them. Given the pandemic set-up, the premise is simple as well as the cast that will focus more on John Lloyd and Bea playing actors who are also a love team and goes on a conversation about life, love, and their past. Going around the city, walking, sitting, driving, and yes, going to Jollibee.

REEL DEAL: Honor Thy Father REVIEW

If there would that would stand out this year for the Metro Manila Film Festival is the inclusion of the film HONOR THY FATHER by Erik Matti. The film was also produced by its lead actor John Lloyd Cruz. The announcement of the film to be included in this year's roster was made in late October which surprised the public, and also gave a shorter time for marketing compared to the other entries.

Honor Thy Father is unique by showing a spectrum of fathers in matriarchal inclined Filipino film industry. But mothers also play a great part on this movie that intensifies the scenes. It has also been ages since we seen a film made in the North, as we see not the tourist sites but the mountains, the mines, and the terrains that gives us a new feeling.

Honor Thy Father comes as a relief to film goers who prefer serous and meticulous movies that targets real social issues and would definitely make an impact in for the festival. But despite the great reviews it got with earlier screenings as a feature film in Cinema One Original Festival, the film cries fouls with initially the limited cinemas and some are pulling out the film to give the slot to the popular films. There is also the controversy with the disqualification from the Best Picture Award because of "non-disclosure" that did not comply to the regulation of the festival.

Despite the movie being disqualified in the best picture race, it bagged awards in the Festival for Best Original Song, Best Make-Up Artist (Ryan Panaligan & Erika Racela), Best Supporting Actor (Tirso Cruz III) Best Child Performer (Krystal Brimmer), and Best Director (Erik Matti). But due to the controversy, Erik Matti did not go to the awards night but sent a representative to read his statement as his acceptance speech.

John Lloyd Cruz Loves and Uses AyosDito for Selling and Buying Online

Online selling is a fast growing activity in the net today, with many people wanting to sell new and old things that can be an alternative source of income and also a way to get extra cash for things you are also planning to buy.  That is why I go for a website like AyosDito.ph which is easy to use even to first time buyers and sellers.

Before, buying and selling is a problematic activity. For one to succeed in buy and sell, you need to post an ad in a newspaper. Now, there’s a cheaper, hassle-free and fast way of offering pre-loved items to those who need it—visit and post free ads on online websites such as www.AyosDito.ph.

I myself have tried to sell some items using this website to test and also sell my items. The first was a GTA IV original game, after posting I got a great buyer within less than 2 days! And with the facebook feature, it helped me with another transaction. Indeed AyosDito makes buying and selling easy and simple!
