Gloc-9’s “Labandero” Brings Great Motivation To An Unwavering Spirit

Aside from performing at different gigs and festivals, Gloc-9 started his 2024 strong with a new single, “Labandero”. It is a powerful and resonant track that weaves a compelling narrative of life's challenges and the unwavering spirit required to overcome them.

The rap song's catchy hooks and engaging rap verses deliver a universal message of hope and determination. Gloc-9 encourages listeners to confront life's difficulties head-on, drawing parallels between the process of laundering clothes and facing challenges with a head up high.

The metaphor of separating whites and colors serves as a poignant reminder to take care of oneself and embrace personal growth.

“Labandero” has an overall message that encourages hope and resilience in the face of life's uncertainties. Gloc-9 masterfully depicted the process of washing, rinsing, and hanging clothes as a symbolic representation of facing challenges, dealing with them, and moving forward. (OFFICIAL LYRIC VIDEO HERE)

Gloc-9 Reminisces His Humble Beginnings In “Kamusta Ka Na”

Gloc-9 has a brand new offering this month of May!

Life comes full circle as our Paboritong Makata reminisces his humble beginnings as a dreaming lad from the municipality of Binangonan in Rizal, looking up at the starlit night wishing that one day he’ll become part of the constellation of famous rap stars. And from that certain perspective, he crafted a song called “Kamusta Ka Na”.

The song is simple yet profound introspection. It is a monologue where Gloc-9 chats to his young self; looking back to the tune when he took the road less travelled.

The journey of the seemingly countless rejections, armed with only his unwavering belief that with each trial he surpassed is one step closer to making his dream become a reality.

Gloc-9 Has A New Propelling Single “Di Umiinom” Featuring Hero

Five down, three more to go! Our Paboritong Makata moves along his lyrical journey with what will be his Pilak album, a musical celebration to mark his 25 illustrious years in the Philippine music industry.

Before the month of August ends, Gloc-9 unveils "Di Umiinom", the 5th single for this upcoming anniversary album and this time around, he shares limelight with Hero, another young buck in the Asintada Management's stable of talents.

Sometimes when someone gets badly hurt and reaches their breaking point, they tend to perform deeds that they don’t usually do, or haven’t done before. Perhaps that act is a coping mechanism to escape all the pain and sadness that they feel. That’s how the song “Di Umiinom” was formulated by the veteran rapper.

Gloc-9 Has A Confession To Make In His New Single “Kumpisal” Featuring Skusta Clee

The one and only Makata Sa Pinas Gloc-9 is releasing yet another single this May! This new song is called "Kumpisal", the Filipino rap icon’s third release for his Pilak album in celebration of his 25th anniversary in the Philippine music industry. Joining him in this string-fueled and vibrant collaboration is Skusta Clee, who’s undoubtedly one of the most popular rap artists on the OPM scene today.

Written and composed by Gloc-9 with musical arrangement, mixed, and mastered by Thyro Alfaro, "Kumpisal" looks into the dynamics of the Catholic sacrament of confession from the perspective of a confessee.

The lyrics? It’s classic Gloc-9 in his prime that you’ve always loved — bathed in cryptic word play and ethereally anthemic that even this mundane topic can transform into a poetic masterpiece. Gloc-9 said that he already wrote different songs on various topics, but releasing a song about religion and spirituality? Not yet. Thus, this song was carefully crafted and was made possible this year.

Gloc-9 Harks Back To His Legendary Music Career, Drops Latest Single “Pilak”

“Alam kong bawal tumigil at hindi dapat huminto, ‘Yang ang payo ko sayo para di ka mabigo. Salamat sa lahat ng nag bukas sakin ng pinto. Ok nako sa pilak kahit na di maka ginto”

Universal Records is proud to honor Gloc-9’s astounding impact on the Filipino music scene throughout his illustrious career. This year, the iconic “Makata sa Pinas” marks his 25th year in the industry and as a grand celebration, he is slated to release a brand-new album which will be called “Pilak”.

And this March, Gloc-9 proudly releases the title track of his anniversary album, which encompasses a mixture of powerful storytelling about his unrivaled hustle and learnings for two and a half decades and enchanting hip-hop melodies. With pure emotional honesty, the veteran rapper also thanked his solid supporters over the years who helped him achieve all the accolades and milestones that he reached. There’s no denying that “Pilak” is a song borne from the heart of a very thankful seasoned artist.

The music video is a timely and fitting tribute to all hard-working and dedicated dads out there. Audiences will surely get a kick out of seeing the usually “siga” rapper struggling to balance his household tasks at home—from cooking and doing the laundry, to watering plants and making grocery runs.

Gloc-9 "Tulay" EP Pushes The OPM Scene Further

With years of hardwork and countless of hits under his belt, the name Gloc-9 has become synonymous to Rap Icon in the OPM Industry. This 2019, Gloc-9 returns with "TULAy" a new EP that brings new music from the rapper and pushes the OPM scene even further.

As its name suggests, Gloc-9 brings two concepts together in "TULAy" — it is a play on the tagalog words "tula" (poem) and "tulay" (bridge), both terms signifying what the rapper wants to embody in this EP. For one, hip-hop is at the forefront as Gloc showcases his skills in writing hard-hitting and socially relevant verses, also experimenting with new styles and flows. But it does not stop there — while the beloved rap icon pushes his music forward, he also uses the EP as a platform to introduce youngblood to the OPM scene.

Gloc-9 Marks 20 Years In The Biz With The Realease of “ROTONDA” EP

Gloc-9 is not one to brag about his work because he believes that it should speak for itself. Yet there is no underestimating his 20 years in the music industry, especially since it is not just about being rapper and performer, but also about being a songwriter.

It also is about having struggled to get to this point where he has nothing to prove, and now realizing that he has in fact put in the work and must only compete with himself. “Kung titingnan ko ‘yung 20 years, parang siguro ang biggest lesson ay ang magpatuloy lang do’n sa gusto mo talagang gawing mga kanta. Kasi siyempre maraming kailangan i-consider minsan, pero kung gano’n kasi, baka hindi ka na makakasulat,” he says.
