Cast of "The Angry Birds Movie" Salutes Cannes Film Festival‏

The US and international voice actors of Columbia Pictures' new comedy adventure “The Angry Birds Movie” held a photo call on the eve of the 69th Festival du Cannes opening as a tribute to the famed film festival.

The event featured actor Josh Gad (“Chuck”) from the original English-language version of the film, as well as Omar Sy (“Red”) from the French version, along with dancing costume characters depicting the birds and the pigs from the film.

In the 3D animated comedy, “The Angry Birds Movie,” we'll finally find out why the birds are so angry.


The movie takes us to an island populated entirely by happy, flightless birds – or almost entirely. In this paradise, Red (Jason Sudeikis), a bird with a temper problem, speedy Chuck (Josh Gad), and the volatile Bomb (Danny McBride) have always been outsiders. But when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies, it’s up to these unlikely outcasts to figure out what the pigs are up to.

World to Celebrate "Red's Carpet Day" on May 7 for "The Angry Birds Movie"‏

To celebrate the imminent release of Columbia Pictures and Rovio Animation’s 3D CG-animated comedy “The Angry Birds Movie,” Sony Pictures will host 41 “Red’s Carpet” premiere events in 343countries around the world on Saturday, May 7.

Countries as wide-ranging as the U.S., U.K., Spain, South Africa, Philippines and Australia, destinations as remote as Montenegro and Nigeria, and many more will each do their share as the red carpet spans the globe. The film’s English-language stars, including Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Maya Rudolph, and Bill Hader, as well as the film’s musical star Blake Shelton, will celebrate at the official World Premiere in Los Angeles, California.
