The news team of Balitang America (BA) –- a daily news show produced by ABS-CBN International for The Filipino Channel (TFC) -- was recognized for its original news and lifestyle reporting, at the 38th Annual Telly Awards.
The Telly Awards honors the best productions in TV, film and digital around the world.
Awarded in the news category is BA‘s team coverage of the U.S. Presidential elections last November.
BA‘s election day special showed the reach of the BA news team in covering Filipino Americans, as they participated in the U.S. democratic process.
Winning in the Lifestyle category is ABS-CBN North America News Bureau Chief Paul Henson’s report entitled, “Designing Destiny” — about the unique jewelry designs of a Filipina artist and energy-healer in San Francisco.
Honored in the Motivational category is BA correspondent Don Tagala’s feature on a Fil-Am chef in New York, who is putting the spotlight on Filipino food at his Asian-American taqueria. (http://www.balitangamerica.tv/ba-honored-with-three-telly-awards/ )
