REEL DEAL: Beauty and The Beast REVIEW

Tale as old as Time... is probably the most iconic statement from a Disney Animated film Beauty and the Beast which I really enjoyed when I was young. Now after decades after it was launched, they went with a live-action movie which has been long anticipated by fans.

Years before, it has been revealed that Emma Watson will play the role of Belle and everyone was excited including myself. Then news about the project was also been awaited by fans. As it draws near its release in 2017, they are looking forward to the box office success of the film because of the raves.

As it is largely based on the 1991 animated version, which also got a nomination for the Academy Awards for best picture - a first for an animated film, Beauty and the Beast retained its playlist of unforgettable songs plus some new ones which are also good. There are some changes made to earn its identity apart from the animation. As revealed by the director, there was indeed the "gay moment" but it was so minimal yet trivial to notice. But what I liked most is the scenes that answered my questions that I have with the cartoon version. Take note, it could also be linked to another Disney movie.

Beauty and the Beast stars Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Audra McDonald, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ian McKellen, and  Emma Thompson. Now showing in cinemas, distributed by Columbia Pictures.

Deliberation time kids!

Show summary in 3 lines: Be Our Guest!

Technical Effects: 4 out of 5 stars (Visually appealing, inclines reality and magic closer to a similar plane)

Plot: 3 out of 5 stars (Keeping the story almost the same with the animated film maybe mirroring it but the added elements helped a lot.)

Acting and Actors: 3 out of 5 stars (I think Luke Evans - Gaston was the best among the cast)

Pros:  Music, Nostalgia, Sub-Plots

Cons: Emma Watson, Intensity of the final fight

Music and Soundtracks:  5 out for 5 stars (Just amazing! It's now saved in my playlist and Celine Dion sang a new song for this!)

Overall: Rating 4.4 out of 5 stars (As a kid who watched the animated version with glee, It was magical even at my age)
