REEL DEAL: Thor Ragnaork REVIEW

I was originally not a Thor fan, but this iconic superhero played by Chris Hemsworth eventually became one of my favorite avengers film. This third installment of series starring the god of thunder takes on a different ambiance as it shifted from the gloomy theme of Thor: The Dark World to a hilarious yet pivotal turning point with Thor: Ragnarok.

Just a few months after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 which is banks on comedy to capture its audience, it was with this approach that Ragnarok was featured in its trailers. Since they do happen in the vast space, it seems fitting to align themselves towards their theme and would gravitate both of the movies together.

As Ragnarok means the end of the world, a new god is introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and her name is Hela played by Cate Blanchett. As the goddess of death, she is really a foe to be feared who could bring Asgard to ruins. Thor in the meantime find himself in a odd predicament where is made a warrior like gladiators.

Taika Waititi directed this film which is said to be his first hollywood movie. As a comedian himself, the comedic timing was on cue despite some are recurring jokes. It was really hilarious and made use of the outer space realm to introduce more alien life rather than focusing more on Earth.

REEL DEAL: Star Trek Beyond REVIEW

The journey to the unknown continues with another installment of the well-loved Sci-Fi series Star Trek. With the success of the last film "Into The Darkness", they also geared up what would be next for the explorers and what lies beyond uncharted frontiers.

Now we have Star Trek Beyond which now directed by Justin Lin who is known for "The Fast and The Furious" movies which many had doubts since fast cars does not always equate to fast space ships. And with a totally different universe, the question lies on how the adventure will take them or even change them.

This is also quite a emotional movie for the cast as two members of the iconic fleet were lost namely Leonard Nimoy and Anton Yelchin. It was really sad since Nimoy belong to the original series while Yelchin is Chekov in the new film franchise. The film did pay homage to the two in the credit scenes.

REEL DEAL: The Jungle Book REVIEW

I believe many of us have seen/heard/read about The Jungle Book which was one of the most loved stories. I was able to watch the cartoon and it did leave a mark on me about the jungle life, but this year I the experience of the jungles comes closer to reality with the live action adaptation of The Jungle Book.

This time the real look of animals and a real boy Mowgli, presents the story in a unique experience. We do know that they things becomes scarier in real life and that what the film shows. Though the story is still the same, interestingly the characters have built their own unique charisma.

The film was almost completely made from Computer graphics, with Mowgli (Neel Sethi) the only real person to act in the film. Though the voices behind them are impressive which gave them a sense of mystery and familiarity.

The thing I like about the movie is giving characters their own time to shine, powerful lines among the animals which shows humanity. And also the role of nature that unites everyone.
