Smurfette Joined by New Female Characters in "Smurfs: The Lost Village"

In Sony Pictures Animation's Smurfs: The Lost Village, Smurfette has lived in Smurf Village her entire life... the same 99 boys every day. But now, she and her best friends are about to go where no Smurf has gone before… through the Forbidden Forest to try to find the Lost Village -- and they find the biggest mystery in Smurf history. It’s going to be the adventure of her life.

“I loved playing Smurfette,” says Demi Lovato, who brings the character to life. “She’s kind and compassionate and really takes care of her fellow Smurfs. But she’s also really brave – she’s adventurous and when she wants something, she goes and gets it. She doesn’t take ‘no’ from anybody, especially Papa Smurf. She’s a strong, independent lady Smurf.

Hefty (Joe Manganiello) is that guy who hits the gym twice a day and will make sure you know about it. But just when you think he’s hard core, he shows you that he’s just a big softie inside. “True Blood” and Magic Mike’s Joe Manganiello voices the role of the blue hunk. “Hefty is the coolest, strongest Smurf in Smurf Village,” says Manganiello.

UN Teams Up with "Smurfs: The Lost Village" for the International Day of Happiness

Demi Lovato, Joe Manganiello and Mandy Patinkin today threw their talent behind a United Nations effort to end extreme poverty, address inequality and protect the planet against climate change through the Sustainable Development Goals.

The three voices in the upcoming film “Smurfs: The Lost Village,” joined officials from the United Nations, UNICEF and United Nations Foundation to celebrate the International Day of Happiness and show their support for the Sustainable Development Goals at UN Headquarters in New York as part of the #SmallSmurfsBigGoals campaign.

Meghan Trainor Releases New Song, Video for "Smurfs: The Lost Village"

GRAMMY® Award-winning superstar MEGHAN TRAINOR has just released her new song “I’m a Lady” from Sony Pictures Animation’s upcoming film Smurfs: The Lost Village on Epic Records worldwide. The accompanying music video premieres March 3 and may be viewed at http://youtu.be/XyL3YKK_1BI.

Trainor also announced that she will be voicing one of the new characters from Smurfs: The Lost Village, SmurfMelody, in the fully animated film.

“I’m so excited to be singing ‘I’m a Lady’ for this movie,” said Trainor.  “It’s a song that I love and am very proud of, and I can’t wait for the world to finally hear it! Getting to play a small part in the film with my character, SmurfMelody, makes this all the more exciting! So happy to be a part of the Smurfs family!!!”

The newest entry in the Columbia Pictures movie franchise that has grossed more than $900 million globally, “Smurfs: The Lost Village” is set to open across the Philippines on May 10, 2017.

Smurfs Invade Skypark, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore‏

To celebrate the birth month of Peyo, the creator of The Smurfs, Sony Pictures Animation has mounted a Smurfs Invasion of the Skypark of the Marina Bay Sands – with some 5,000 Smurfs figurines!

Rendering the Skypark practically blue, the invasion was part of Smurfs Night which concluded the highly successful Sony Pictures Summit: Singapore, a four-day publicity blitz that highlighted the studio’s upcoming blockbusters, including “Ghostbusters,” “Inferno,” “The Magnificent Seven” and “Smurfs: The Lost Village.”

Sony Pictures Animation today announced the addition of three new cast for the lineup of talent in the next Smurf adventure “Smurfs: The Lost Village,” hitting theaters March 31, 2017 (including the Philippines).

Joining the already announced Demi Lovato as Smurfette, Rainn Wilson as Gargamel and Mandy Patinkin as Papa Smurf will be: triple Emmy nominee Jack McBrayer (“30 Rock,” “Wreck-It Ralph”) as the sweet, awkward and honest-to-a-fault Clumsy, who’s forever trying his best and missing the mark; Danny Pudi (“Community”) as book smart and geek proud Brainy, who’s long on knowledge, but short on inter-Smurf-onal skills; and Joe Manganiello (“True Blood,” “Magic Mike”) as the strong and super-positive Hefty, a loyal dynamo struggling with his hero complex.
