“HERCULES” Storms Into IMAX Theaters in PH July 23

IMAX Corporation, Paramount Pictures, and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures recently announced that Brett Ratner's action epic, “Hercules,” will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX® 3D format and released by Paramount Pictures and MGM in IMAX® theatres worldwide, including the Philippines on July 23, 2014.

Know "What Does It Take To Be A Fashion Icon" on March 4

Celebrating the life of the iconic fashion personality Diana Vreeland (September 29, 1903– August 22, 1989), noted columnist and editor in the field of fashion, will be the spotlight of a special fashion forum “ WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BECOME A FASHION ICON" to be held at the IMAX Theater in SM Megamall this March 4. 

Diana Vreeland worked for the fashion magazines Harper's Bazaar and Vogue and as a special consultant at the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She was named to the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame in 1964. This year, her life will also be remembered with "Full Gallop" starring Cherie Gil as Diana Vreeland.

The Philippines’ 7th IMAX Theater opens at SM Aura Premier

SM Aura is now open and many are amazed with the structure and the store inside it. Located in the posh district of Bonifacio Global City, the mall is another great attraction  for those who have sophisticated taste. And what is a mall without a movie house?

SM Cinema made sure that on the opening of the new mall comes with a one of a kind cinema that is unique only in SM Aura. SM Opened its latest IMAX Theater here which is a great treat for movie goers who live in East Metro Manila.

In The launch, we were able to see how the new IMAX looks like and how well does it fair with the other IMAX theaters in the metro. The verdict is we did love this one even it is a little smaller compared with the others but still gives the audience a complete and intimate image and sound experience. The lobby also has a great view of the BGC skyline before you enter the cinema.

Andy Serkis plays Captain Haddock in  Spileberg’s The Adventure of Tintin

To play Haddock, Jackson suggested an actor he knew had what it would take to embody all the dynamics of the role:  Andy Serkis.   “Knowing Andy as well as I did, I knew he’d be absolutely terrific, so I arranged for him to meet Steven, who saw right away what he could bring to it,” he says.  


Spielberg adds: “Andy and Jamie had fantastic chemistry as this iconic pairing of a youthful, moral straight shooter and an old, reprobate sea captain.  They’re complete opposites, yet Captain Haddock brings many lessons to Tintin’s life, and Tintin really gives Haddock a chance to redeem himself.”


Serkis, who has been a fan of the comic since childhood, decided to give his character, whose origins are open to interpretation, a Scottish brogue that sets the tone for his journey.   “It seemed appropriate that Haddock should have a kind of rawness and emotional availability,” Serkis explains.  “He’s a great seaman and has great potential as a human being, but he’s kind of lost in self-pity, and it is Tintin, this boy, who helps him realize that he can connect with other people again.”

Get lost with Alice in Wonderland!

The clock is ticking and the world is awaiting as the door to the world of wonderland will open up and reveal it secrets. Tim Burton's version of the very loved novel Alice in Wonderland. Its stars Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Crispin Glover, Matt Lucas, Marton Csokas, Tim Pigott-Smith, Lindsay Duncan, Geraldine James, Leo Bill, Jemma Powell, Mairi Ella Challen and Mia Wasikowska as Alice. And this version will be the first in 3D and iMax. since we have seen the animated movie version and also countless series and other movie adaptations, but for this movie is unique. Now let me just share a classic (?) video of Alice from 1903.

I also like the OST of Alice in Wonderland by Avril Lavigne, one of my favorite artist. The title is just Alice and the video is very simple yet they have integrated parts of the movie. One interesting fact about me is I also wonder into my own wonderland when I am alone...hahaha looks creepy...but I'm just exercising my imagination.

Alice in Wonderland premieres on March 4, Thursday on cinemas and will have a premiere night at selected cinemas on March 3, 2010 here in the Philippines.
