It is also belongs to the Cloverfield franchise in which, the first film was also well received with its found footage style. This time, the film is presented in a third person narrative. With just 3 main characters, and a story that revolves inside a doomsday bunker after events that are presumed to be from an unconfirmed attack. The tension between them and the surrounding posts a lot of questions which will be revealed eventually.

Though it is different from the first Cloverfield film, it actually serves as an advantage so it would not to be compared side-by-side to the first one which has a different premise and treatment. The concept of underground bunkers which was popularized by conspiracy theories heightens images and speculations unique to each viewer.
