PRSP Concludes First-Ever Virtual and Nationwide Students’ PR Con with Grand Prix Hack Sprint Edition

The Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) has finally concluded the Grand Prix Hack Sprint Edition, the second leg of this year's Students’ PR Con, the first virtual, interactive, and nationwide edition of the organization’s Students’ PR Congress.

Being the first Hack Sprint edition of PRSP’s annual student event and competition, this year’s Grand Prix was fully virtual wherein to qualify, students from all over the country were invited to submit a position paper about “The Great Resignation”, a current social issue being tackled across the world, provided by the initiative’s Platinum Sponsor JobStreet.

Eight (8) universities successfully advanced as qualifiers for the second phase, the Hack Sprint, where the students were given 24 hours to develop their communications plan. These are De La Salle University - Dasmariñas, Far Eastern University, Holy Angel University in Angeles, Pampanga, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, San Beda University, Saint Louis University in Baguio, University of the Philippines - Los Baños, and University of the Philippines - Manila.

Eight Universities Advance as Qualifiers in PRSP Grand Prix Hack Sprint Edition

The Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) is thrilled to announce that eight (8) universities are moving forward to the second phase of the Grand Prix Hack Sprint Edition, the second leg of the recent Students’ PR Congress.

These are De La Salle University - Dasmariñas, Far Eastern University, Holy Angel University, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, San Beda University, Saint Louis University, University of the Philippines - Los Baños and University of the Philippines - Manila.

These universities successfully advanced after participating in the first phase of the initiative wherein students (1 team per school comprised of 3 members) from all over the country were invited to submit a position paper about “The Great Resignation”, a topic provided by JobStreet Philippines, the Platinum Sponsor of the 2021 PRSP Students’ PR Con and Grand Prix.

In the second phase – the Hack Sprint, the students will be given 24 hours to develop their communications plan. Students will be briefed on February 3 and must start developing their plan, presented in a maximum of 10 slides, for submission on February 4.  A distinguished jury will evaluate and score the entries and identify 5 outstanding teams advancing to the third and final phase.

PRSP Invites Students and their Schools to Join the First-Ever Hack Sprint Edition of Students’ Grand Prix

After successfully concluding its Students’ PR Con last November, the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) is now set for its second leg of this year’s Students’ PR Congress with the Students’ Grand Prix Hack Sprint Edition.

Being the first hack sprint edition of PRSP’s annual student event and competition, the upcoming Students’ Grand Prix will be fully virtual and students from all over the country can participate. 

The event will be divided into three phases. Phase 1, the Nationwide Selection, invites students (1 team per school comprised of 3 members) to submit a position paper about “The Great Resignation”, a topic provided by Jobstreet Philippines, the Platinum Sponsor for Students’ Grand Prix. PRSP Makes History with the 1st Virtual, Interactive and Nationwide Students’ PR Con and launch of Grand Prix Hack Sprint edition

The Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) has successfully wrapped this year’s Students’ PR Con which is the first virtual, interactive, and nationwide edition of the organization’s Students’ PR Congress. The Students’ PR Con 2021 also paved the way to the launch of the Students’ Grand Prix Hack Sprint in February 2022.

The online conference, which served as an opportunity for PR, communication, journalism, marketing and advertising students to learn more about public relations and related disciplines from leading practitioners in the field, has received nearly 2,000 registrations from all over the country. 

The theme for Students’ PR Con 2021 is “Decoding Content: The Journey to PR for Good”, wherein PR Con delegates were immersed to navigate the new media landscape and go through the content journey’s three different stages, namely: (1) Capture and Consume, which addresses how we contextualize content we encounter in everyday life; (2) Curate and Converse, which will discuss how to properly curate content from reliable sources and create fruitful conversations responsibly; and (3) Create and Care, which collates learnings from the first two segments by talking about why creating our own PR for Good can push forward ideas into meaningful advocacies and causes.

The Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) is giving more students of public relations, communication, marketing and advertising a chance to be part of the first-ever PRSP Students’ PR Con 2021 with the extension of its registration until November 16, 2021.

A virtual, interactive, and nationwide edition of the Students’ PR Congress, the PRSP Students’ PR Con is an opportunity for students all over the country to learn more about the public relations industry from leading practitioners in the field.
