"UPSTART 10 FOR 10’ Online Mini-Concert Fundraiser Set On May 9

In line with its 10th year anniversary in the theater community, Upstart Productions proudly presents UPSTART 10 FOR 10, an online mini-concert fundraiser on May 9 – 8 pm at Facebook page – Upstart Productions.

UPSTART 10 FOR 10 shall feature ten artists namely Topper Fabregas, Rony Fortich, Jenny Jamora, Carla Guevara-Laforteza, Lorenz Martinez, Shiela Valderrama-Martinez, Jill Pena, Felix Rivera, Ice Seguerra, and Reuben Uy.

The repertoire will include ten songs from Upstart Production’s first musical, BREAKUPS & BREAKDOWNS by Joel Trinidad and Rony Fortich. 

Let's Go Behind The Scenes of "Maynila Sa Kuko ng Liwanag The Musical"

As it was initially revealed, the cast of the upcoming stage play "Maynila sa Kuko ng Liwanag The Musical" were posted and rehearsals are on going for this epic theater production. Based on the novel by Edgardo Reyes and brought to film by the late Lino Brocka, Maynila Sa Kuko Ng Liwanag has made a mark in Philippine entertainment and now will be given a new light as it will played live on stage.

Playing the roles of Julio Madiaga and Ligaya Paraiso are Arman Ferrer, Shiela Valderrama-Martinez and Lara Maigue. In preparation for the musical, we went to their rehearsals and photoshoot to meet with the cast and crew and what is in store for the viewers. Maynila Sa Mga Kuko Ng Liwanang The Musical's Julio Madiaga and Ligaya Paraiso Revealed

The guessing game is finally over. 

Grand Leisure Corporation proudly reveals the lead cast of the much-awaited “Maynila Sa Mga Kuko ng Liwanag The Musical.” World class performers Arman Ferrer will be playing Julio Madiaga while Shiela Valderrama-Martinez and Lara Maigue will be alternating as Ligaya Paraiso. 

“Maynila Sa Mga Kuko Ng Liwanag The Musical” is based on the Edgardo Reyes timeless novel and inspired by National Artist for Film Lino Brocka’s classic film adaptation. 

Bringing it to life on stage are Joel Lamangan (Director), Von de Guzman (Musical Director), Jose Victor Torres and Em Mendez (Libretto), Joey Nombres (Lights Designer), Douglas Nierras (Choreographer) and Jun Flavier Pablo (Production Design). Fullhouse Asia Productions, Inc. serves as line producer.
