URC caps off Environment Month celebration with nationwide tree-planting event

Universal Robina Corporation (URC) culminated its celebration of Philippine Environment Month with a nationwide tree-planting initiative. From Bulacan to Davao, URC employees and volunteers planted over 6,000 seedlings through simultaneous tree-planting activities across 25 areas.

Under the theme “Protect Nature, Sustain Our Future,” this activity aims to promote the relevance of environmental awareness and protection; reinforce its values of environmental stewardship and planet-friendly culture; and capitalize on people engagement to promote environmental compliance and best practices.

Well-loved URC brands are now available on Lazada

URC donates BOPP packaging films to hospitals

With the depletion of supplies of personal protective equipment (PPE) amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Universal Robina Corporation (URC) has donated Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) films to hospitals, to serve as barriers between patients and healthcare workers.

Primarily used for packaging consumer products, the BOPP films are manufactured through a stringent process, facilitated by URC’s packaging division in Batangas.

“It was Dr. Maria Julieta Germar of the Philippine General Hospital’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology who informed us of their department’s dire need for protective equipment,” shared Ramon Agustines, URC packaging division general manager.
