Sony Pictures Explores the Real-Life Science of "Passengers"

In anticipation of the US release of Passengers, Sony Pictures Entertainment is working with NASA to provide the film to the astronauts orbiting the Earth on the International Space Station. The film portrays the real-life possibilities of space travel, exploration of the universe, and finding a new home around another star.

NASA is looking beyond our solar system for potentially habitable planets around other stars. The stars of Passengers, Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt, who play interstellar travelers, talk about NASA’s search for a home away from home in a new PSA (public service announcement). "Moana" Breaks Animation Record, Grosses P85.68-M in 5 Days

Disney's “Moana” found out “how far it'll go” at the Philippine box-office – and far it went with an opening weekend gross of P85.68-million in only five days.

The sea-faring adventure also broke the record for the all-time biggest opening day gross for an nimated film last Nov. 30 with a rollicking P24.9-million, surpassing the sales of last year's “Minions” at P22.9-million.

This was announced today by a spokesman of Walt Disney Studios Philippines.

Jay-R Get Big Hollywood Break

King of RnB Jay-R has just added another feather to his cap.

His single, L-O-V-E, from his most recent Elevated album, was chosen to be part of the soundtrack of an upcoming Hollywood romantic comedy, The Bounce Back, starring Shemar Moore, Bill Bellamy and Nadine Velazquez.

"It's a dream come true for me. Any artist would love to be in a soundtrack that's part of a Hollywood movie," exclaimed the ASAP Soul Sessionist crowd favorite.

"Yes, this is the first time my music will be part of a Hollywood movie." Jay-R flew to Los Angeles last weekend to attend the movie's red carpet screening to be held at the TCL Chinese Theater, Hollywood Blvd., on December 6.

A new one-sheet art forUniversal Pictures' pyschological thriller “Split” – the latest film from writer/director M. Night Shyamalan – has just been unveiled. The poster shows cracks in the extreme close-up image of James McAvoy's character suffering from split personality disorder.

Meghan Trainor Writes, Performs "I'm a Lady" for "Smurfs: The Lost Village"

“I’m a Lady,” a new song from the multi-platinum reigning Grammy Awards Best New Artist Meghan Trainor, will be featured in Sony Pictures Animation’s Smurfs: The Lost Village. The song is performed & written by Meghan Trainor and produced by Martin Rene, Monsters & Strangers and Meghan Trainor.

Fans will be able to hear the song in the new year, in advance of the film’s debut in Philippine cinemas on March 29, 2017.

Commenting on the announcement, Trainor said, “I love the Smurfs and was honored when they asked me to write a song for this new movie. I was especially excited – I wrote the whole thing in one evening!”

Globe signs MoA with Hineleban Foundation, Inc. on five-year Rainforestation Program in Bukidnon and Lanao del Sur

Leading telecommunications company Globe Telecom, together with its thousands of iPhone 7 customers, collaborates with Hineleban Foundation, Inc. on the Rainforestation of Six Mountain Ranges of Mindanao as part of the company’s commitment to sustainable development and good corporate citizenship.

At the same time, Globe signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Hineleban for a five-year Rainforestation Program composed of three key components, namely: reforestation, food security, and sustainable livelihood development.
