Lights of Hope: WWF-Philippines Deploys Solar Lamps in Beton, Palawan

About 15 million Filipinos have no access to electricity. Living in far-flung villages which are not directly connected to power grids, they instead rely on highly-flammable kerosene to light up their homes. This lack of access to a safe, stable, and sustainable energy source hinders opportunities for social and economic advancement.

Located in the municipality of Taytay in northern Palawan, the remote island-community of Beton is home to an estimated 300 families who rely on subsistence fishing and seaweed farming for food and livelihood. The majority of them make do with living in darkness after sundown.

REEL DEAL: Spectre REVIEW

Daniel Craig is really getting the hang of being James Bond and has made success on the big screen. With Skyfall in 2013 a huge hit, the anticipation for the next film intensifies thus leads us to the latest installment for the Bond franchise, SPECTRE.

In the books, SPECTRE is the largest criminal organization which consists of many arms and henchmen which is James Bond's greatest battle. As expected, there will be a lot of locations where Bond will find his foes, secrets, alliances and of course ladies to pursue.

Daniel Craig's style of portraying James Bond has indeed grew into him and definitely different from his predecessors.  However Spectre is not that as progressive as Skyfall, but it never failed in bringing action and thrill throughout the film and also a lot of explosions and hot kissing.

KIX’s R U Tough Enough winner is a Renaissance Man

KIX, the ultimate destination for action-entertainment recently concluded R U Tough Enough competition which was about finding the toughest Pinoy who is not just physically tough, but mentally and emotionally tough as well. It is doubtful that anyone could have predicted that the actual winner Reyn “The Daring Dreamer” Talosig, would embody that concept of toughness so completely and perfectly.

The RUTE course was alternately and often all at once grueling, mind numbing, and dizzying. All the elite finalists who competed that day finished, but every single one struggled to do so, incurring multiple penalties along the way. Talosig however, blasted through the course as though it was his personal playground, only one of the other competitors was even close to his time. His victory at RUTE though is just the tip of the iceberg, this deeply religious single dad, and avid classical music enthusiast approaches life in a manner that is simply inspiring.
