Kalinga QC beneficiaries may opt for GCash as disbursement method

Quezon City residents may opt to receive their supplemental financial assistance from the local government safely, securely, and conveniently through GCash, the leading mobile wallet in the Philippines.

Through GCash, beneficiaries of the local government’s Kalingang QC Program stand to benefit from the wide array of financial services that GCash offers to its users — from savings to credit, from investments to insurance.

Kalinga QC is the supplemental Social Amelioration Program (SAP) for the vulnerable sectors in the city. It aims to dole out P22,000 in financial assistance to solo parents, senior citizens, and persons with disability, among others. They may opt to choose GCash as the disbursement facility for the financial assistance.

“Choosing GCash as their preferred disbursement facility allows beneficiaries to receive the financial assistance safely, securely, and conveniently. Aside from this, they may also use their GCash wallets for an array of services such as bills payment, online and offline transactions, and fund transfers, among many others,” GCash Vice President for Enterprise Luigi Reyes said.

Beneficiaries of the Kalinga QC Program may use the funds facilitated through GCash to buy from over 70,000 GCash partner merchants like Puregold, Mercury Drug Store, 7-Eleven, among others via Scan to Pay via QR or Barcode, pay their electricity bills via Bills Pay, transfer money to and from 40 banks via Bank Transfer, and buy airtime load credits.

They may also use their GCash wallets to get a savings account via GCash Save Money, invest in money market funds via Invest Money, and even avail of very affordable insurance plans via GCash Insurance.

“We at GCash believe that the future is cashless, and it is only being accelerated now by this pandemic. Now, more than ever, we have to be vigilant of our safety and leverage digital technologies such as GCash for our everyday needs,” Reyes said.

Globe Fintech Innovations Inc. (Mynt), which operates GCash, is part of the portfolio companies of 917Ventures, the largest corporate incubator in the Philippines wholly-owned by Globe Telecom Inc.

GCash is available for download on the App Store and Google Play. For more information, kindly visit https://www.gcash.com/.
