GCash Expands More Finance Services For Savings, Investment, and Insurance

Nowadays, almost everyone in the country knows and has GCash on their phone. Being the number one financial super app, it can do a lot of things aside from online payment, transfer, and mobile loading. 

In recent years, they have also expanded  digital financial services it offers like savings, loans, insurance, and even investments. This helps a lot of oung professionals and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to unlock their financial goals

GCash recently shared that young professionals are becoming more independent, budget conscious, and open to trying simple ways to earn more while owners of MSMEs struggle to find accessible financing to expand their business and reach more customers.

GCash and CIMB Bank offer up to 7% p.a. interest with GSave

To help Filipinos grow their finances and achieve their #IponGoals, GCash, the leading mobile wallet in the country, and CIMB Bank, the country’s leading digital banking services provider, are offering as much as 7% per annum on GSave. Currently the highest interest rate available in the market, the offer is available to GCash users who will sign up for their first GSave account from April 1, 2022 to June 30, 2022.

The GSave feature has been live in the GCash app since December 2018 in partnership with CIMB Bank. It has been providing unbanked Filipinos with the opportunity to open a savings account that requires no initial deposit, maintaining balance, or lock-in period.

According to the 2017 The Global Findex Database of the World Bank, a staggering 66 percent of Filipinos do not have a formal savings account. Leading mobile wallet GCash recently sparked an online discussion on this important issue, led by key influencers and brand ambassadors such as television host Robi Domingo admitting to their own stories of financial mistakes and not being able to save.

As a result, social media was abuzz in recent weeks with posts from netizens sharing their own financial woes with the #PlsSaveMe hashtag, illustrating how this reality hits close to home for Filipinos from various walks of life. The dialogue spanned the entire nation, with conversations and revelations in local dialects covering the different regions and provinces of the country.

GCash Partners With CIMB For GSave Accounts As They Also Celebrate 500,000th Customer


Bringing in to the age of digital banking, GCash partnered with CIMB Bank Philippines (CIMB Bank PH) in a recent service called GSave which is special feature in the app that allows customers to save up more easily with a high interest rate.

CIMB Bank PH is a digital bank that started its operations early 2019 and has quickly gaining customers with the ease of creating accounts and managing it via mobile. GCash meanwhile expands their services from providing mobile accessibility to Filipinos with the app which can do a lot of functions such as buying load, mobile debit card for online transactions, paying bills online, and recently plant trees through the GForest project.
