Media Advisory: Grab announces temporary suspension of GrabCar services in areas under MECQ

Philippines Following the government’s announcement placing the entire Metro Manila, Laguna, Bulacan, Cavite, and Rizal under MECQ starting August 4, Grab will be temporarily suspending its GrabCar services beginning Aug 4, 12MN. In light of this development, Grab, along with its partners, will continue to support our communities - the driver-partners, merchants, frontliners, and most especially our kababayans staying at home.

Grab, Quezon City provides thousands of livelihood opportunities to help the city recover from the pandemic

  • Grab, through its GrabBayanihan program, has committed to help Quezon City residents recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic by aiming to provide livelihood opportunities to around 1,000 tricycle drivers, displaced workers, and small business owners in the city who have been severely impacted by the pandemic. 
  • Furthermore, Grab Philippines and the Quezon City Government will provide livelihood opportunities to 500 tricycle drivers and displaced workers to be part of Grab’s delivery fleet. The partnership will likewise offer market access to at least 500 small businesses in Quezon City who are greatly affected by the pandemic. 
  • In the past, Grab, and the Quezon City Government have shared several milestone initiatives in the past particularly in responding to the initial threats of the pandemic by providing mobility and delivery solutions to the city in the form of GrabWheels, and a specialized delivery fleet respectively.

Grab Philippines, together with the Quezon City Government, has announced its partnership, which aims to leverage on Grab’s platform and provide livelihood opportunities to the city residents in helping them recover from the impacts of the pandemic.

At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Grab has launched its GrabBayanihan program to help Filipinos respond and recover from the pandemic. While GrabBayanihan has delivered protection and support to Filipinos during the early stages of the pandemic, Grab is again calling on the spirit of bayanihan – this time through local government partners across Metro Manila.

  • Grab, through its GrabBayanihan program, has committed to help Navotenos recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic by aiming to provide livelihood opportunities to 500 tricycle drivers and displaced workers to be part of Grab’s delivery fleet. 
  • The partnership will likewise provide market access to at least 500 small businesses in Navotas who are greatly affected by the pandemic. 
  • Grab and the City of Navotas have shared several milestone initiatives in the past particularly in providing livelihood opportunities to the residents through the PCUP, and this initiative is additive to Grab’s agenda of working closely with the government amidst the effects of the pandemic.

Grab, Dept of Tourism strengthens PH Harvest initiative; helps Filipino farmers through digitalization

Following the recently signed partnership with the Department of Agriculture, Grab Philippines has entered into an agreement with the Department of Tourism to support its Philippine Harvest Initiative poised to increase Filipino households’ accessibility to local food products, as the company aids agripreneurs to bring their businesses online.

As the everyday everything app, Grab lends its platform to boost discoverability on the initiative and its participating merchants, and provide logistical needs through the transport of the products to their customers.

Grab recognizes the role it could play in supporting local businesses, including agripreneurship, especially to cope during this time of COVID-19 pandemic, and to spur the economy.

Grab Expands GrabMart Operations in Metro Manila with over 150 outlets and new categories

  • In less than two months since its launch, GrabMart has expanded its pool of merchant-partners by 9X, now with over 150 outlets in partnership with leading supermarkets, convenience stores and specialty stores in Metro Manila.
  • Grab users can now buy groceries from Ultramega, Lawson, Fisher Supermarket and Shell Select, medicines from Generika and Family Doc, fresh produce and meat products from Zagana, Meat Depot, The Market by Holly Farms, and Les Aunor Farmer’s Market, and home internet solutions from PLDT and Smart through GrabMart

#GrabThatFlight: Grab and GetGo partner to bring Filipinos closer to their dream destinations

Grab and GetGo Rewards by Cebu Pacific today announced a new tie-up that will bring more travel opportunities to Grab users. Starting August 3, Grab consumers can start converting their GrabRewards points to GetGo points.
