Driver of ride-hailing app finds support in Globe’s QC expansion

When every single text message and every single second counts, it is very important to have a reliable, dependable and fast internet connection.

And if you happen to earn your living using mobile apps, then it is a must to have connectivity anytime of the day, and anywhere you may be.

For Sigfried Ragay, a Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) app driver and a Globe user for several years, much of his days rely on the messages he receives from potential passengers.  So for him, to fill his quota and earn a few more pesos, Ragay needs to have his internet connection on the fly.

Media Advisory: Grab announces temporary suspension of GrabCar services in areas under MECQ

Grab, Navotas provides thousands of livelihood opportunities to help Navotenos recover from the pandemic

  • Grab, through its GrabBayanihan program, has committed to help Navotenos recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic by aiming to provide livelihood opportunities to 500 tricycle drivers and displaced workers to be part of Grab’s delivery fleet. 
  • The partnership will likewise provide market access to at least 500 small businesses in Navotas who are greatly affected by the pandemic. 
  • Grab and the City of Navotas have shared several milestone initiatives in the past particularly in providing livelihood opportunities to the residents through the PCUP, and this initiative is additive to Grab’s agenda of working closely with the government amidst the effects of the pandemic.

Grab Philippines together with the City government of Navotas, has announced its partnership which aims to leverage on Grab’s platform and provide livelihood opportunities to Navotenos in helping them recover from the impacts of the pandemic.

At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Grab has launched its GrabBayanihan program with the aim of helping Filipinos respond and recover from the pandemic. While GrabBayanihan has delivered protection and support to Filipinos during the early stages of the pandemic, Grab is again calling on the spirit of bayanihan – this time through local government partners across Metro Manila.  

Cry To #SaveAngkas Gets Louder - Drivers Join Unity Ride

If you might have passed EDSA last Sunday morning, you might have encountered a huge number of motorbikes on the road particularly near the People Power monument and nearby areas. This is because it was a protest done by Angkas riders in response to the crackdown of LTFRB on their operations.

Dubbed as the Unity Ride, the riders first gathered at the monument where around 2,000 drivers came in their Angkas uniforms to show solidarity and voice out their frustrations with the ruling. Specifically it was the recent Supreme Court Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) junking a previous RTC injunction that prevented the LTFRB from apprehending Angkas riders.

Grab and GetGo Rewards by Cebu Pacific today announced a new tie-up that will bring more travel opportunities to Grab users. Starting August 3, Grab consumers can start converting their GrabRewards points to GetGo points. For just 1000 and 4,500 GrabRewards points, members will be able to get 100 and 500 GetGo points respectively, which they can use to redeem for free flights to any Cebu Pacific destination.
