Written in the blossoming stages of a relationship, the song is essentially about being in the period of nervous waiting, between the fluttering of beginnings and the certainty of something more. In a way, it speaks to the universal yearning for resolution and clarity, especially in today’s climate. The song asks the questions: Can there be value, even in the waiting? How do you cherish the present without losing yourself in a longing for ‘something more’?
Now available on her YouTube channel, the video for the newly remixed version was directed by Stockholm-based Singaporean film director, Mandy Tay. The visual narrative features a pair of lovers dancing through the quotidian scenes of Stockholm city: traditional meets contemporary, and ballet meets street dance, the couple whirl around each other in a dream state, swirling like a glass of (oak cherry) wine.
As a follow up to her recently-released 5-track EP, ‘Blooms’, the remix to the spellbinding single, ‘Oak Cherry Wine’ is produced by Singaporean music producer, Feng Lee, and was made available on digital music platforms worldwide last 29 January 2021.
