Independence Day Made More Meaningful with indigent children at the National Housing Authority by Metro Manila Clubs of Kiwanis

Independence Day is a celebration nationwide in the Philippines and a time for a lot of Filipinos for a vacation since it’s also a national holiday but to some of the Kiwanians under Philippine Luzon District in Division 3A; Mckinley, Malate West, Makati, Manila Bay, Pasay, Pasay North and Pasay Eagle, they made sure that 1000 kids from National Housing Authority will enjoy the freedom they are experiencing today. 

Headed by Engr. Grace Bondad Nicolas, Lieutenant Governor for that Division which is composed of the Metro Manila clubs, they launched the feeding, medical mission and gift giving for the children that resides inside the National Housing Authority in Barangay Santo Tomas, Calauan, Laguna headed by Captain Rommel Belano.

The most distributed local magazine in National Bookstores launched “People To Watch 2023” in the Presidential Suite of The Manila Hotel presenting the emerging leaders of this generation and they are from different industries. 

The honorees has been presented by Poland Ambassador, His Excellency Jaroslaw Szczepankiewicz, Dr. Elton See Tan and Becky Garcia, and these leaders will be featured in the March issue of the magazine. 

Among those organisation that attended was leaders from Kiwanis International, Philippine Luzon District with the incoming governor Glenda Hufano. A serial and award winning entrepreneur, Glenda received multiple awards from different organizations and recently under Kiwanis for her unwavering support to help not just the indigent children nationwide but also helps the club projects. 

Psychology Testing for indigent kids in Laguna under Kiwanis with incoming Governor

Calauan, Laguna where you can find the sweetest pineapple in the south, the Kiwanis International, Philippine Luzon District, Division 3A conducted a Psychology Testing to indigent students in the biggest public school in the area spearheaded by Malate West Club with the assistance from other clubs that includes Makati, Manila Bay, Pasay, Pasay North, Pasay Eagle and Los Baños. 

The incoming governor of the district, Glenda Hufano graced the activity and shared some valuable lessons to the different members of the clubs on how to continue helping the children and at the same time to establish clubs for kids. 

The objective of the psychology test is to determine if the child is in need of help using the result of the different exams and interviews. Psychological assessment is viewed as a privileged encounter between a child presenting problems and an expert in child development, psychopathology and assessment.
