LOIR’s debut EP, Chapters exhibits emotional maturity beyond years

The 7-track release also features the Gloc 9-assisted track “TAKAS”

After dropping ethereal tunes that capture the struggles of youth in the most genuinely honest way, Filipino recording artist LOIR is now ready to open up old wounds and deliver an unsparing narration of her teenage life in her debut EP, Chapters, out today via Sony Music Entertainment.

The 7-track EP, which exhibits a knack for confessional songwriting and tender, spacey production, reflects emotional maturity beyond her years. In moments when the soulful newcomer needed some rescuing, she wasn’t afraid to examine her decisions in life with both sides of the coin: never consumed by ego, but instead, looking for answers with a hopeful, open mind.

LOIR addresses own personal struggles in new single “MAMA”

The R&B singer-songwriter delivers a stripped-down ballad with an emotional pull

R&B singer-songwriter LOIR submits to the pull of her heart in her new single “MAMA,” released under Sony Music Entertainment.

On the stripped-down ballad, the talented newcomer asks big questions about life’s purpose and her conflicting sense of direction. But while doing the things that she loves the most comes with existential baggage, LOIR recognizes the need to work on herself and apologize for her misgivings.

“I’ve made some decisions in the past that I’m not happy about,” says the budding young artist. “This song is my way of closing that chapter in life, and hoping that I’ve made my parents proud as I welcome change with positivity, dreams, and love. I’m more than inspired to do well in my chosen craft.”

LOIR takes listeners on a fun, cozy ride with debut single “Sakay”

Filipina R&B artist LOIR invites listeners to a joyful sonic ride with her debut solo single “Sakay,” released under Sony Music Philippines.

Brimming with luscious beats and deep, laid-back grooves, the exciting newcomer’s latest song touches on the playful, romantic side of getting to know someone during a road trip in the countryside.

For her part, LOIR channels the warmth that comes with the thrilling stages of infatuation, providing soulful, understated vocals that aim for resonance rather than stylistic venture. “I’ve always been particular in capturing the essence of the material by prioritizing the message first before taking the delivery and aesthetic appeal into consideration,” LOIR explains in a statement. “Most of my songs are confessional in nature, so I make sure to sing from the heart and interpret the message clearly, but without sacrificing my own music style.”
