GMA Network regains nationwide TV ratings lead

GMA Network has retaken the lead in nationwide TV ratings, resulting from its stronger performance in all timeblocks, according to data from the industry’s trusted ratings service provider Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.

For the period September 1 to October 13 (with October 9 to 13 based on overnight data), GMA overtook its closest competitor in National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM) with an average people audience share of 38.3 percent, besting ABS-CBN’s 37.6 percent.

GMA likewise remained the undisputed ratings leader in viewer-rich Urban Luzon, which accounts for 77 percent of all viewers in urban TV homes in the entire country, with 43.4 percent, ahead of ABS-CBN’s 32.3 percent.

Sweeps 10 out of 10 top programs in Mega Manila

Broadcast giant GMA Network, Inc. (GMA) maintained its lead in nationwide TV ratings over competitors this February, according to broadcast industry's more trusted ratings service provider, Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.

Based on February 1 to 29 household data (February 26 to 29 based on overnight ratings), GMA posted an average of 36.3 household share points, ahead of ABS-CBN's 30.4 points by 
5.9 points; and TV5's 14.6 by 21.7 points.

Using an average of 5 viewers per television household, these numbers translate to around 1.1 million more viewers tuned in to GMA over ABS-CBN and almost 4 million over TV5 from all over the country.

Leading across all dayparts in Mega Manila, GMA kept its stronghold of its bailiwick area, which now comprises more than 59 percent of total television households nationwide. The Kapuso Network registered a total day average of 41 share 
points, 
up by a notable 16.1 points from ABS-CBN's 24.9 points, and up by 26.3 points from TV5's 14.7 points. 

GMA Network delivers breakthrough ratings performance in 2011

In the year ended, GMA Network, Inc. (GMA) altered television channel ranking as it overtook ABS-CBN in nationwide total day household audience share, placing the latter only to second rank - according to broadcast industry's more trusted ratings service provider, Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.

Based on full 2011 nationwide data of Nielsen (December 25 to 31 based on overnight ratings), GMA posted a 34.2 percent total day average television household audience share, outscoring ABS-CBN's 31.1 percent and TV5's 15.6 percent by substantial gaps.
