PHINMA Education, Globe enable flexible learning with mobile data for students

PHINMA Education, a fast-growing network of schools in Southeast Asia, recently partnered with Globe Telecom to provide mobile data to selected schools in its system as part of its FlexLearning@PHINMAEd program. Students in PHINMA Araullo University in Nueva Ecija and PHINMA Cagayan de Oro College will benefit from the project.

“Education must continue regardless of the situation and challenges that lie ahead. We believe that every Filipino student, especially those who have the determination to learn but don’t have the financial resources to do so, should have access to quality education,” shared Dr. Raymundo P. Reyes, PHINMA Education Philippines Country Head. “We’re thankful to have the support of Globe in helping our students succeed, allowing them to remain safe, and ensuring they have the tools they need to take charge of their future.”

Joby Linsangan Moreno Talks About Her 10 Commandments

Joby Linsangan Moreno, the lady behind Orange Blush Salon talked about her 10 Commandments as The Orange Lady in her first public engagement as a professional speaker. The event billed Elevate: Primed For Greatness held at  The Podium Special Events Center

Cabanatuan City and organized by Lvrage, saw Joby talking before a mixed crowd of students and professionals. 

Joby opened her first salon at age 23 in Nueva Ecija from the remnants of a beauty parlor about to close shop. It was a huge move for Joby who with her savings of 30,000 pesos chose to invest in the salon business. She was at that time working as a medical technologist. "When I went to college at 17, I did not know na ang med tech nasa lab pala," she recalls. "I did not know, nag aanalyze pala ng ihi, poop, dugo at iba pa. Eh ayaw ko pa naman ng kumukuha ng dugo," she explains.

PH’s Top Tennis Players Face Off in PPTO Nueva Ecija Leg

The Peugeot Philippines Tennis Open (PPTO) Nueva Ecija leg recently saw some of the country’s best tennis players battle it out to bag the championship crowns at the Center Court Tennis Club in Cabanatuan City.

Current Philippine Tennis Association’s (PHILTA) Women’s Singles No. 6 Edilyn Balanga faced No. 7 Marinel Rudas in the championship match of the third regional qualifier leg of the PPTO. Balanga emerged triumphant, 6-3, 6-4.

Before their women’s singles championship duel, Balanga and Rudas teamed up for the doubles championship match against Hanna Espinosa and Erika Manduriao. The latter’s combined firepower was no match for Balanga and Rudas as proven by a 6-3, 6-5 scoreboard.

DepEd celebrates teachers as living heroes, culminates World Teachers’ Day

Recognizing the vital contribution of Filipino teachers in institutionalizing educational reforms in the country, the Department of Education (DepEd) and its partners celebrated this year’s World Teachers’ Day (WTD) at Araullo University in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija on October 5. 

Education Secretary Br. Armin Luistro FSC emphasized the great responsibility of every teacher in preparing the Filipino youth to be better equipped for the world. He said, “If all the teachers in the country start to move as one, we will start the biggest revolution in education.”

“The revolution in education is a revolution that will change the country and bring about all of the dreams and hopes of our young people... If you want to transform our country, we need living heroes,” he added.
