Young Cast Shares Dark Secrets, Deep Fears in "Truth or Dare"

Joining Lucy Hale and Tyler Posey in Universal Pictures’ terrifying new supernatural thriller Truth or Dare are five young actors on the cusp of stardom -- Violett Beane, Nolan Gerard Funk, Sophia Taylor Ali, Hayden Szeto and Landon Liboiron.

In Truth or Dare, a group of college friends heads to Mexico for one last getaway before they begin their post-grad lives and head their separate ways.  As with any core crew, long-brewing romances and allegedly buried conflicts begin to emerge as they prepare to say goodbye.  When a handsome stranger cons Olivia (Lucy Hale) into getting her friends to play a supposedly silly game of “Truth or Dare,” they awaken a trickster demon that is hell-bent on getting them to share their darkest secrets or confront their deepest fear…and if they don’t, they’ll pay the ultimate price.

He became a household name when he starred as Scott McCall on the long-running MTV series Teen Wolf, which aired its 100th and final episode in September 2017.  

Now, Tyler Posey joins Lucy Hale (TV’s Pretty Little Liars) as college seniors Lucas and Olivia  in Truth or Dare, a supernatural thriller from Blumhouse Productions (Happy Death Day, Get Out, Split).

Multi-talented and dynamic, Lucy Hale captured the attention of millions as the star of Freeform’s smash-hit series Pretty Little Liars.  For the role of Aria Montgomery, Hale won the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Cable TV Actress in 2014.

Now, Lucy Hale joins Tyler Posey (TV’s Teen Wolf) in leading the cast of Blumhouse’s Truth or Dare, a supernatural thriller from Blumhouse Productions (Happy Death Day, Get Out, Split). A harmless game of “Truth or Dare” among friends turns deadly when someone—or something—begins to punish those who tell a lie—or refuse the dare.

Horror fans are invited to play ahead of eveyone else as Blumhouse’s new horror-thriller Truth or Dare is scheduled to hold special sneak previews in selected cinemas everywhere on Monday and Tuesday, April 30 and May 1.

Directed by Jeff Wadlow (Kick-Ass 2), the thriller co-stars Violett Beane, Nolan Gerard Funk, Hayden Szeto and Sophia Taylor Ali. The film was produced by Blumhouse’s Jason Blum and executive produced by Wadlow.

Discussing his inspiration for Truth or Dare, Jeff Wadlow says: "I wanted to make a fun, smart, scary movie with real stakes. Cry Wolf was my first bite at the horror-genre apple, and when producers Jason Blum and Couper Samuelson came to me with this germ of an idea, I thought this was a great opportunity to create a film that audiences could buy into."
