It’s interesting to think how infatuation can bloom into something divinely romantic, yet difficult to articulate. But in Zack Tabudlo’s universe, expressing one’s affection is better delivered in stripped-down, guitar-pop music—as if he knows that a way to someone’s heart is a sweet, melodic chorus and a soaring instrumentation.

Released ahead of his highly anticipated debut album, Episode, Zack Tabudlo’s new single “Ba’t Ganto Ang Pag-ibig” proves that he’s a troubadour of unrequited love songs. It captures the conflicting emotions that people of all ages could relate to. But most importantly, it’s a song that bursts with earnest sentimentality.

According to Zack himself, “Ba’t Ganto Ang Pag-ibig” is about someone you like, but is admired by a lot of people. “You don't know if you stand a chance to everyone else, but you genuinely just want the person to be happy,” the young hitmakers shares in a statement. “You will always be the one call away for that person no matter what.”

Zack Tabudlo continues Binibini’s winning streak with global collaborations

After gaining tremendous success with “Binibini,” Zack Tabudlo continues to build momentum with collaborations featuring top-caliber artists from all over the world.

One of his buzziest partnerships is a rework of his smash single “Binibini” with British singer-songwriter James TW. Titled “Binibini (Last Day On Earth),” the international version was performed by both Island Records artists, with rewritten lyrics in English.

Binibini ‘English version’

According to Tabudlo, the new version has a lot of similarities with the original, and was reimagined to capture a wider audience outside the Philippines. “The production was minimally changed and the overall ‘original’ feel is still there,” the hitmaker shares in a statement. “Lyrics-wise, it still has the spirit of the original in it, but it sort of focuses more on a ‘love until the end of time’ type of story.”

The unexpected team-up happened when James TW, an up-and-coming pop artist with over 800 million streams to date, heard the song at the peak of its streaming domination, and started covering it on TikTok. Both artists decided to hit up each other for a possible collaboration, and the rest as they say, is history.

Zack Tabudlo admits that he wrote the track after a breakup with a former flame. “Hindi Ko Kaya is about the realization of how much you miss love—the intimacy, the sacrifices, and the memories that you’ve shared together as a couple,” the acclaimed hitmaker explains. “These thoughts came rushing in unexpectedly, but then you realize that you can't live without the person anymore. It’s too late to bring everything back.”

Zack Tabudlo turns to Liza Soberano as inspiration for ‘80s-inspired track “Elizabeth”

Zack Tabudlo returns with a bright, ‘80’s pop-inspired number about a girl who gives hints of love and interest, but is afraid of commitment. Released today via Island Records Philippines, his latest single ‘Elizabeth’ was loosely inspired by his admiration for Liza Soberano; hence, the title’s relation to the actress’ real name outside of showbiz.

Zack admits that it was actually Liza who got him into songwriting at a young age. “I wrote a ton of songs about her starting out until I paved my way to writing through my personal experiences,” the Nangangamba singer confesses. “She's such an inspiration to a lot of people including me, who got started with a craft I love to do.”

A fictional account

From a lyrical standpoint, ‘Elizabeth’ puts accurately into words Zack’s frustration about unrequited love, and how the most interesting pieces of music come from a place of romantic uncertainty and youthful sentiment. “The song is about a person who gives you mixed feelings, showing interests but throws you off from time to time,” Zack adds.

And Zack shows no signs of slowing down, as evidenced by his latest single ‘Iyong Iyo.’ Written by Tiny Corpuz and performed by Zack Tabudlo, ‘Iyong Iyo’ sees Zack putting it all on the line and giving everything—literal possession. “Kahit pa ba sa kabilang buhay, ‘di maglalaho,” he croons in the glimmering chorus, showcasing his lyrical penchant for themes like romance and longing. Gentle harmonies and mellow instrumentation make you feel like you’re floating, and allow Zack to flex the upper register of his vocal range, his high notes triumphant and sincere.

Zack Tabudlo takes charge of his fear and soars in love with latest single, “Nangangamba”

Singer-songwriter and producer Zack Tabudlo finds renewed perspective on time’s delicate role in shaping your own destiny, setting an ultimatum on fear with his newest single, “Nangangamba,” out this Friday, August 7, on digital platforms worldwide.

On his first release under Island Records Philippines, Zack urges listeners to take ownership of their own feelings: that inaction may shield you from pain, yes, but ultimately it’ll get you nowhere. He brings love songs up a notch, infusing pop and R&B elements to his powerful vocals—a testament to his ever-evolving songwriting and production style. But moreover, it signals a shift on his creative choices in keeping his individual artistry as dynamic as his growth in the music industry. “With these new tracks, I'm sure people who have experienced these would relate so much more… [the latest single] is very different, music-wise and in terms of maturity,” he shares.
