ART IS A BANG: Katy! Soon on its 2nd Run

If You missed the staging of Katy! The musical last January, like me, we can actually have another chance to see this one of a kind musical live and now in a bigger venue. 

Spotlight Artist Centre gave a sneak preview for Katy! 2nd Run. The cast and production crew of Katy! proudly staged their sneak preview to selected members of the local entertainment media last Wednesday, May 22 at the Mabuhay Restop Travel Cafe and Museum in Rizal Park, Manila.

Below are some of the videos of the teaser performances for the musical, though many theater companies would go for localized broadway plays, Katy! stands out with nostalgia and jazz which paved way for Philippine entertainment to flourish.

TRACY COX (Official Stylist)

Tracy Cox and Sarah's relationship began with Sex And The City. He was the man behind the dress in the iconic series finale exit scene of Sex in the City. In the episode, SJP lost a row of diamonds amongst layers of luxe tulle that could very well pass for the most exquisite ballerina dress of all time.

Tracy also created the link FASTERTHANPARIS, the gifted brainchild between Tracy Cox and Troy Arnold, and was featured in Vogue’s September issue. Back in 2009, the duo met through mutual friend Nicholas Kirkwood who suggested the two link up on a project. At the time, Tracy (whose original dream was to be a ballet dancer) was a stylist.

'Indio' now on its finale week

For the past six months that Senator Bong Revilla has been doing a primetime series in GMA, he said that his desire for doing a teleserye has been fulfilled by Indio.

As it is his first teledrama ever, he revealed that the program left a mark on him. “Kapag pinaghirapan mo, mag-mamark ‘yan sa puso mo. Tsaka feeling ko dito ako natutong umarte talaga.”  he shares.

Leading a stellar cast and a big production is a remarkable experience for him but he will never forget the support he got from all the viewers of the show, “Nakakatuwa ang suporta lalo na kahit saan ako pumunta: Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, ang tawag sa ‘kin ay Indio… talagang matutuwa ka.”

Just like what he mentioned before that INDIO will be his first and last primetime teledrama, the good news is there may be an ‘Indio: The Movie’. They are already planning to turn the program into a movie which will be included in the Metro Manila Film Festival, and will also be directed by Dondon Santos.

Australian Catholic University Manila Program announces recipients of Esteban Scholarships

The Australian Catholic University (ACU) Manila Program is proud to announce this year’s recipients of the “Esteban Scholarship Awards”.

           

Aaron Olaguera from Fortridge Asian School and Julius Pungtilan from Baguio City National High School received respectively 100% and 50% scholarships.

Named after Eleanor Esteban, one of the pioneers in transnational education in the Philippines, the “Esteban Scholarship Awards” are given to qualified students for the entire 3-year program in Manila. A full scholarship is valued at AUD $5,400 per year.
