REEL DEAL: Jaime Foxx Says Role In "ANNIE" Captures What's Like To Be A Father

Business tycoon Will Stacks never thought he needed anybody - and if you ask him why, he'll point to his 4.7 billion reasons in the bank. But everybody needs somebody, and when Stacks takes in the adorable foster kid Annie, he'll find out exactly what that means.

Academy Award-winner Jamie Foxx stars as Will Stacks in Columbia Pictures' heartwarming musical comedy, “Annie.”

In the film, child wonder Quvenzhané Wallis (“Beasts of the Southern Wild”) plays Annie, a young, happy foster kid who's also tough enough to make her way on the streets of New York in 2014. Originally left by her parents as a baby with the promise that they'd be back for her someday, it's been a hard knock life ever since with her mean foster mom Miss Hannigan (Cameron Diaz). But everything's about to change when the hard-nosed tycoon and New York mayoral candidate Will Stacks - advised by his brilliant VP, Grace (Rose Byrne) and his shrewd and scheming campaign advisor, Guy (Bobby Cannavale) - makes a thinly-veiled campaign move and takes her in. Stacks believes he's her guardian angel, but Annie's self-assured nature and bright, sun-will-come-out-tomorrow outlook on life just might mean it's the other way around.

REEL DEAL: Julianne Moore The Dark Sorceress In “SEVENTH SON”

The veritable frontrunner for the Best Actress prize in February’s Academy Awards for her performance in “Still Alice,” acting diva Julianne Moore stars in Universal Pictures and Legendary Pictures' fantasy adventure “Seventh Son.”

Moore portrays Mother Malkin, the mighty witch whose heart is blackened by betrayal and heartbreak. Landing the acclaimed actress to play the dark sorceress was a real coup. “It’s hard to cast a wicked witch because if the actress isn’t good it could feel very campy and over the top,” producer Basil Iwanyk says.

REEL DEAL: Chris Hemswortdh Must Stop Vicious Cybercrime In "BLACKHAT"

Chris Hemsworth (Marvel's “Thor,” “The Avengers”) plays a new kind of hero in Universal Pictures' cybercrime thriller, “Blackhat.”

The Australian actor is cast as Nicholas Hathaway, a genius coder and furloughed criminal set on a mission of revenge. An unlikely operative fighting to protect our world from an impending attack that will shatter people’s lives, this hacker on furlough must lead a manhunt to stop an unseen danger that can strike anyone, anywhere.

Director Michael Mann introduces us to the tale: “The film starts off in Los Angeles. The premise is that Hathaway is in his fourth year of a 13-year prison sentence. He’s offered a conditional release if he works to identify and apprehend a cybercriminal who has already taken down a nuclear power plant in China and manipulated the price of soy futures on the commodities exchange. Nobody knows who he is, where he is or why he’s doing what he’s doing. But he has obviously no regard for human life, and he’s skilled and dangerous. If Hathaway works to identify and apprehend this cybercriminal organization, he’ll win a commutation of his sentence.”

Carrier Cooling Solutions help preserve Vatican art pieces

Manila – The upcoming papal visit to the Philippines has generated renewed interest in the Vatican City—including its precious works of art.

The walled city within the enclave of Rome receives up to 20,000 visitors a day. These huge crowds bring in a mix of dust, body sweat, and carbon dioxide, which end up on the surface of the paintings and can harm them over time.

Earlier this year, the Vatican partnered with Carrier Corporation to install top-end HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) units in the Sistine Chapel in an effort to properly preserve Michelangelo’s frescoes.
