Ben&Ben come to terms with loss and grief on “Magpahinga” music video

The poignant music video stars award-winning actor Joel Torre and actress-filmmaker Bela Padilla.

Ben&Ben took the month of May by storm, teasing fans with the grandest way possible to announce a new era in music. First, there was “Upuan,” a cinematic piece of pop music that swirls intimately against a backdrop of nature retreat. And then there’s “Magpahinga,” a lovingly sparse ballad that embraces the importance of healing on one’s own terms. Instead of recapturing old glories, both songs are bold enough to leave us ending in places both infinite and enduring, widening our sense of appreciation for the band on a purely intimate level.

Globe: Over 7,400 green solutions reduce carbon emissions across network

Globe endeavors to reduce carbon emissions across its network by consuming cleaner fuel at lesser quantities, achieving lower emissions and maintaining energy-efficient heat removal throughout its operations.

Fuel cell systems, direct current generators, lithium ion batteries, and free cooling systems are some of the green network solutions that the company has been successfully deploying system-wide since 2014.

Energy and emission data are monitored on a monthly basis, while data validation is conducted on a quarterly basis.

As of 2020, there are a total of 203 fuel cell systems, 6,467 lithium ion batteries, 212 Direct Current Generators, 60 DC-Hybrid Generators, and 538 free cooling systems deployed across Globe’s network nationwide.

Fuel cell systems produce less emissions compared to traditional generator sets, and operate silently thereby reducing noise pollution in surrounding areas. Globe started deploying fuel cell systems in 2014 as a green solution alternative to diesel generator sets that provide backup power to cell sites.

5 reasons to apply for a global remote job

With the COVID-19 pandemic sweeping the world, social distancing measures and travel restrictions have been implemented to minimize contact between people. This, in effect, has opened doors for wider remote opportunities where companies from across the globe are hiring candidates outside their vicinity to continue its operations.

While remote work allows hirers to efficiently expand their global workforce, it also allows candidates to land overseas jobs from the comfort of their home. All over the world, openness to remote work is on the rise, with 57% saying they are willing to work remotely, based on the recent Decoding Global Talent Survey released by leading online job portal JobStreet. Locally, the study reveals that 49% of Filipinos are willing to work for a remote employer and position.

JobStreet sees the rapid emergence of global remote jobs due to the pandemic, and here are the top 5 reasons why jobseekers should consider applying for these positions.

Dru Chen Takes Us Higher With R&B Track ‘EIFFEL TOWER’

Singapore-based singer/songwriter Dru Chen pens down a romantic ballad, one that’s closest to his heart. Conjuring enchanting visions of Paris, France with its idyllic coffee shops & dreamy fashion, the R&B track is a special piece about laying one’s heart on the line for something which is never quite guaranteed. "It was written during a time of intense vulnerability, when life and love went through tumultuous ups and downs,” shares Dru.

Eiffel Tower was jointly written by Joel Tan of Gentle Bones and Dru Chen, and solely produced by Dru. Starting off slow and steady, the verses are quiet and intimate, a contrast to the bustling, explosive chorus that makes us feel like we’re in celebration of love, especially with Dru singing, “Pray you don’t let me go / ‘Cause who’s gonna catch me / When I fall for you”. The song speaks straight to the heart - encouraging us to let down our guard and let a lover or, l'amoreux, into our lives.
