LRMC, Alstom, and Bouygues partner with Binhi Foundation to provide access to quality education

LRT-1 private operator Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) further beefs up its partnership with Binhi English Literacy Foundation, a non-profit and non-governmental organization, as it engaged its partner companies Alstom and Bouygues in supporting more classes for its advocacy of nation-building through quality education.

Started in School Year 2020 - 2021, the partnership between LRMC and Binhi English Literacy Foundation began with one class at Marcela Marcelo Elementary School in Pasay City being supported for the Beginning Reading Program. The primary objectives were to improve the student’s comprehension skills and develop love for reading that will inspire students to do better in school and subsequently, improve their economic situation. The program resulted to a 40.8% improvement in average scores for the reading progress of students.

Philippine Stagers Foundation's KATIPS Is Now A Musical Film!

Now that cinemas are back, it is also a perfect time to revive Pinoy films for the big screen bring back the experience, emotions, and also the jobs that were greatly affected by the pandemic. Theater performances was also greatly affected with a halt with their operation in recent years. But as conditions has now been relaxed somehow, would it be great to have a comeback of cinema and theater?

I was surprised with news that the Philippine Stagers Foundation (PSF) has now invested their talent and resources in making new media. They now created PhilStage Films that will create movies for the big screen starting with a cinematic adaptation of their play  “Katips: Mga Bagong Katipunero” which won the 2016  ALIW Awards for Best Musical Performance.

Now simply titled "KATIPS", they now brought the PSF energy and story to a new platform and possibly a more wider audience. KATIPS in summary is a story of friends and lovers  during the time of Martial Law. With the main characters like Panyong, Greg, Alet, Art, and Estong are activists protesting against "Apo", it also shown the powerful police and military that can commit atrocities as they please. We also have Lara who is an actress who went to Philippines to search for his activist father.

The lockdowns really affected most of us as we are confined inside our homes and almost forgot how the outside world looks like. Fortunately restrictions has eased up with the declining number of cases which means we can gradually comeback to our usual routines and do more things. Lullaboy recently landed one of the biggest gigs of his career as the host for Tokopedia’s WIB Indonesia K-Pop Awards, a star-studded music event that gathers the biggest Hallyu pop artists in the world, including BTS, BLACKPINK, TWICE, NCT DREAM, Stray Kids, aespa, ITZY, THE BOYZ, TREASURE, and SECRET NUMBER.

The Singapore-based musician specifically auditioned for the part, and was luckily chosen as the host for the prestigious awards show, which streamed live on November 25, 2021 from 7pm onwards via Indonesian channels RCTI and SCTV, Tokopedia Play, and Tokopedia’s official YouTube channel.
