Globe warns public vs phishing attacks amid Russia-Ukraine conflict

Globe is urging customers to remain vigilant amid an uptick in phishing attacks linked to the Russia-Ukraine conflict in recent weeks.

While phishing campaigns recently detected by Google’s Threat Analysis Group (TAG) have primarily targeted Ukraine and its European allies, Globe warned that these threats may easily be exploited and spread across the Asian region.

“We all need to watch out for certain types of emails or content that will try to lure us into sharing our information. These may contain topics such as humanitarian aid-themed scams and online petitions for Ukraine,” said Anton Bonifacio, Globe’s Chief Information Security Officer.

He said other content may also pretend to share news and information about the ongoing Russia-Ukraine crisis, or offer tips related to the crisis’ impact, such as where to get the lowest gas prices in your area.

Far Eastern University launched the FEU Centennial Benches and announced its call for nominations for the 2023 FEU Green and Gold Awards.  

The FEU Centennial Benches is a fund-generation campaign for the OneFEUfund, a collective effort of the alumni to ensure that bequests are successfully passed on to the next generation of tamaraws. Donors who give a one-time donation of P100,000 will have a campus bench named in their honor.

K-Pop group OH MY GIRL drops vibrant sophomore album, Real Love

7-member Korean pop group OH MY GIRL returns with their new full-length album and lead track “Real Love.” The delightful 10-track release follows Dear OHMYGIRL EP which dropped last May 2021, and their 2019 album, The Fifth Season.

With lyrical sensibility and colorful storytelling that takes their work to exciting new places, their sophomore album’s centers perfumes and lingering fragrances as narrative motifs in telling stories of young romance and infatuation.

The self-titled single “Real Love” stands out with its sweet, addictive brass sound and pop melodies.  Its lyrics unravel OH MY GIRL’s interpretation of what it feels like to fall in love, and how that special moment feels unreal and unfamiliar. Aside from the lead track, the album explores an eclectic range of music styles spanning pop, EDM, R&B, Latin, and hip-hop influences.

DITO Telecommunity has recently partnered with local gaming and eSports company LuponWXC for this year’s Just ML Female Cup Tournament, highlighting the exceptional talent of female gamers in the Philippines.

As the tournament’s official telco partner, now for the second year, DITO will highlight the best and most promising female gamers in the competition, which is considered one of the biggest Mobile Legends tournaments in the country.

Last year, the Just ML Female Cup featured over 50 teams that fought in a tournament showcased live via Just ML’s Facebook Page.

This year’s tournament, which will run from March 14 to March 31, will be as big as ever, with over 50 teams hailing from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao fighting for the top prize of PHP 70,000 along with DITO gaming items and DITO SIM cards.
