Ken Chan Stages "My Destiny" Concert at Zirkoh

We loved him as Destiny Rose, a transgender who proved her worth in society, and also in Real Florido's "1st Ko Si 3rd" as the young Freddie Webb in the Cinemalaya film favorite. Now Ken Chan ventures into performing limelight as he stages his concert happening on August 19 at Zirkoh Tomas Morato.

Called MY DESTINY: KEN CHAN LIVE IN CONCERT will feature Ken as a performing artist and to showcase his talent in singing which is his impressive talent along with his acting. We do remember that he had his first album under PolyEast records and reveals that he will be working on a new album soon.

The concert will also be a reunion with his co-actors in Destiny Rose like  Jeric Gonzales and Fabio Ide, along with comedians Divine and Tammy Brown and good friend singer-actor RJ Agustin, and 80s icon and fellow Kapuso Manilyn Reynes. The concert also brings in Real Florido (Cinemalaya's 1st Ko Si 3rd) who will be directing the concert.

Japan's Latest Box-Office Hit “GODZILLA: RESURGENCE” Opens August 31 In Philippines

The king of all monsters is back in “Godzilla: Resurgence” and brings the audience back to Godzilla’s origins as he emerges in modern Japan for the first time. The film is co-directed by Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi, and stars Hiroki Hasegawa (“Why Don’t You Play In Hell?”), Satomi Ishihara (“Attack on Titan”), Yutaka Takenouchi (“USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage”).

Walt Disney Studios' classic 1977 live-action/animated musical “Pete’s Dragon” – the endearing tale of a young boy and his friendship with an animated, green dragon – is re-imagined for today's generation with the new family adventure bearing the same title.

In Philippine cinemas starting Sept. 07, the new “Pete’s Dragon” is the adventure of an orphaned boy named Pete and his best friend Elliott, who just so happens to be a dragon. The film stars Bryce Dallas Howard (“Jurassic World”), Oakes Fegley (“This is Where I Leave You”), Wes Bentley (“The Hunger Games”), Karl Urban (“Star Trek”), Oona Laurence (“Southpaw”) and Oscar® winner Robert Redford (“Captain America: The Winter Soldier”).

Disney had been eager for some time to introduce “Pete’s Dragon” to a whole new generation of film goer’s and brought on producer Jim Whitaker to shepherd the project. “There are so many people who grew up with the original film, and the idea of that movie became a leaping-off point for us,” says Whitaker. “We knew that this very simple idea about a boy and his dragon still had the potential to become a really special film.”

Electricity Rates Go Down In August

Meralco announced that overall electricity rates this August went down by Php 0.11 per kilowatt hour (kWh) for its residential customers. Households consuming 200 kWh will experience a reduction of around Php 22 in their electricity bill. Meralco Public Information Office Head Joe Zaldarriaga (in photo) explained that the overall rate decrease was due to the downward movement in the generation charge.
