Meet Four New Regal Babies for 2016!

Regal Films just recently introduced four new rising artists that are now officially part of the family and earned their title as "Regal Babies", a term long used for new celebrities whom many have successfully made it big in the business. For this year, these beautiful and talented artists from ALV Talent Circuit will prove themselves for upcoming roles under the guidance of the Regal Matriarch Mother Lily Monteverde.

These four are very diverse in terms of talents and experience. Some started on TV, one discovered on events, and some followed the footsteps of their family. Despite their age, their achievements are already proof of their potential in the industry. Mother Lily shares her joy with the new talents in which one of them is the son of Laguna Governor ER Ejercito.

The Regal Babies of 2016 are Chanel Morales, David Licauco, Danielle Lee, and Jerico Ejercito. They officially became part of Regal family with their contract signing last July 29. They are also just in time for the preparation of new movies for the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival 2016 on Christmas. Let us now take a look at their profiles and know them one by one. 

CHANEL MORALES

Chanel Morales brought the house down with her a capella rendition of Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” on TV5’s reality talent show Artista Academy, making it to the finals round. She became a frequent romantic lead on TV5’s Wattpad Presents anthology.

The 20-year-old Scorpio admires Rihanna, Adele, Lana Del Ray, Beyonce, Selena Gomez as her favorite singers, and cites Phantom of the Opera, The Great Gatsby, The Revenant, Theory of Everything, Maze Runner, The Devil Wears Prada, Shopaholic, and Step Up as her all-time favorite movies.

The UST graduate who describes herself as strong, creative and irreplaceable lives by her motto: "Don't let anyone's ignorance, hate, drama or negativity stop you from being the best person you can be."

When not busy with her showbiz commitments, Chanel indulges in her favorite pastimes including boxing, reading books, watching TV and movies and traveling.

DAVID LICAUCO

In a crowd of good-looking models, David Alexander Sy Licauco easily stands out. Keen and driven with passion to make it big in the industry, this Fil-Chinese model may just achieve his goal in no time. Already a fixture in various men’s fashion glossies, he is either flaunting the latest in men’s fashion, sharing his fitness regimen or simply enjoying his status as the evasive campus cutie that sends college girls forever swooning.

David has spread his wings since his big win as Mr. Chinatown 2014 first runner-up.

It was in Laboracay 2013, the much-awaited summer event, when he was first discovered when he was still playing with the College of St. Benilde basketball team.

An avid fan of Leonardo di Caprio and Daniel Padilla, the 6’1” athlete aspires to fulfill his dream of being recognized as a serious actor. His prayers may be answered in no time, because he will soon be given his big acting break on television.

The social media influencer has been gaining a steady stream of followers, aptly called “Licauconatics,” who have been clamoring for showbiz debut.

DANIELLE LEE

Tall, young and lovely Danielle Lee has always wanted to become a star, but these desires were put on hold so she could finish her studies. She gets a steady flow of modeling stints and is always compared to her fabulous older sister Divine. She doesn’t mind really because she looks up to Divine. During her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, sports and helping out in feeding programs and charities that focus on educating the youth.

Being the svelte and leggy teener that she is, Danielle has been touted as a potential beauty queen, following in the footsteps of such class showbiz personalities-turned-world-class-beauties such as Megan Young and Pia Wurtzbach.

JERICO EJERCITO

Jerico Ejercito could very well be the next action hero. He is the grandson of George Estregan and the son of actor and former Laguna governor Jeorge E.R. Estregan Ejercito. He has appeared in Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story and El Presidente. His chiseled physique he owes to good genes and his hard work in the gym and track.

A Political Science graduate from De La Salle University, Jerico aspires to be a track and field Olympian.

First exposed to the modeling world during his formative years, he has admittedly been bitten by the showbiz bug at an early age, perhaps in large part due to his showbiz lineage as well.

But despite such an anointment, Jerico acknowledges that he can’t ride on his family’s coattails.

With his natural inclination for sports and his lean but muscular build, sees himself more fit for action movies, just like his favorite flicks Die Hard, Fast 5 and The Avengers.

Is his college course any indication of a political career in the near future?

He says, “I can’t tell yet. As of now, I prefer to do the things that I can do while I’m still young, because most probably someday, that time would come.”

With these latest additions to Regal Films’ roster of celebrity talents, Regal Films matriarch Mother Lily Monteverde is greatly excited about their lineup of projects for the young stars.

She says, “Through the years, the Regal Babies have consistently turned out to be box-office superstars and this year is no exception. I see a bright future ahead for Chanel, David, Danielle and Jericho.”

For her part, Regal Films executive producer Roselle Monteverde lauds her good friend and renowned talent manager Arnold Vegafria’s penchant for building superstars.

She exclaims, “We have always admired Arnold’s sharp eye for talent, and the impressive list of stars under his wing attests to his credibility as a starbuilder. As we share the same vision, we are looking forward to conceptualizing new and trendsetting projects aimed for today’s young generation of moviegoers.”
