More heart-wrenching scenes unfold in “The Greatest Love” finale

The story of Gloria’s (Sylvia Sanchez) love for her children and the sacrifices she makes to keep her family intact in the TV series “The Greatest Love” has touched many lives and has left valuable lessons for viewers nationwide via ABS-CBN, and in key countries worldwide via TFC.

Sanchez’ character showed the strength and the unconditional love of parents for their children, proving that there is no greater love than a mother’s love. The series also became an avenue to shed light about Alzheimer’s disease, and its effect on filial relationships.  Gloria and her children Amanda (Dimples Romana), Andrei (Matt Evans), Paeng (Aaron Villaflor), Lizelle (Andi Eigenmann), and grandson Z (Joshua Garcia) continue to prove that everyone can rise from this adversity when there is love and hope in everyone’s hearts.

Being the lead star of the series, Sanchez expressed how grateful she is for the unwavering support of viewers who followed the journey of her character Gloria.

“I will never forget the love and respect, both as a person and as an artist which the viewers made me feel,” said Sanchez.

Sanchez added. “I am sad that we are parting ways. But, I am happy because the show will end well and the people like it.” 

Sanchez also noted how the touching story of their series has strengthened her relationship with her own family, and changed her perception on love. “Family is the most important thing in the world. Also, no one can keep apart two people who are destined for each other,” she said.

Viewers nationwide have been tuning in to the heart-wrenching scenes of “The Greatest Love” so the program has consistently been winning the local ratings game. It hit an all-time high national TV rating of 20.4%, according to data from Kantar Media Television Audience Measurement (TAM), which measures local television viewership. The series is also a regular trending topic online.

The series also became an avenue to shed light about Alzheimer’s disease and its effect on familial relationships through the forum “Remembering Our Greatest Love: An Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Forum.” The forum was organized by the show with the help of the Alzheimer’s Disease Association of the Philippines (ADAP).
