Venom - Did The Symbiote Spin-Off Spun Well?

As we still await the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we can  take a look on the characters still under the Marvel mantel particularly the symbiote series which features the anti-hero Venom. Though we have seen him in Spider-Man 3, this spin-off franchise is getting mixed feeling for both fans and viewers.

For this version, Tom Hardy takes on the role of Eddie Brock who is an investigative journalist who is out to discover the secrets of the Life Foundation headed by Carton Drake. As he tries to dig deep further into the mysterious company, he gets webbed in to a more complicated mess and eventually got to be the host of one of the symbiotes.

It was made clear that they are not linked to the current MCU, but the vast characters that can be derived from it gave it the structure to build its own universe. However there are some problems we saw along the way. One of them are continuity problems that are quite forgivable but maybe an eyesore for the observant eye.

Venom stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, and Reid Scott. Now Showing in cinemas!

Deliberation time kids!

Show summary: Slimy Alien Wars

Quotable quote: "We Are Venom" - Venom

Technical Effects: 3 out of 5 stars (Kinda disappointing that it looks like a B-movie with the CGI which can be blamed with poor production design)

Plot: 2 out of 5 stars (The structure of the was so formulaic they also forgot to innovate)

Acting and Actors: 4 out of 5 stars (Probably the only redeeming factor with Tom Hardy as a great choice for the role)

Pros:  End credits, STAN LEE!
Cons: Character design, continuity, plot holes, shallow story

Music and Soundtracks:  3 out for 5 stars (underwhelming soundtrack because it lacks connection to the movie)

Overall: Rating 3.2 out of 5 stars (Entertaining but failed to innovate and get away from the observant eye of the viewers.)
