REVIEW: In The Grey

Guy Ritchie is back with a movie bringing action and thrill with In The Grey starring Henry Cavill and Jake Gyllenhaal. This is an interesting pair up of two leading men who have proven themselves in the action genre. Both have their unique charisma as their characters are experts in doing things almost harmless to being cold and brutal.

The story revolves with two extraction experts Sid and Bronco (Henry and Jake) who were employed by Rachel Wild (Gonzalez) to pressure the devious businessman Manny Salazar to pay a $1 Billion debt. The team also has to do outrageous things to get his attention and come into talks. The game becomes deadly with both playing tactics to outsmart and over power each other.

The movie also brings us to many places that are linked to businesses and schemes that both parties are connected with. It feels like a spy movie and an adventure film into one movie. And having Cavill and Gyllenhall is also something new to test if this can be a possible franchise in the future.

Eiza Gonzalez is the core that brings the team together as she leads with intimidating charm and composure despite distress. What I love about the film is the details that are technical but not boring. The other characters of them team like Gucci and Baker are also fun members yet I hope they were given more of their background. Overall, In The Grey indeed has that Guy Ritchie brand of action that keeps the excitement from start to finish.

In The Grey is now showing in PH cinemas by Creazion Studios
