TCL Reinforces Commitment to Filipino Talent with Second Batch of TESDA Training

Building on the success of its first training initiative, TCL continues to champion technical education through a training program with TESDA designed to deliver a deeper and more immersive learning experience for future industry professionals.

Following the successful debut of its inaugural training initiative, the global leader in TV and air conditioning technology, TCL, is elevating its partnership with TESDA through the conduct of its second batch of  training. This year’s curriculum on installing domestic refrigeration and air-conditioning units features an extended duration designed to deliver a more comprehensive and immersive learning experience.

By evolving last year’s lecture-based foundation into a hybrid model, the 2026 program integrates intensive hands-on application with advanced technical theory. This strategic shift ensures that trainees develop the real-world competencies and industry readiness required to excel in the evolving HVAC landscape.

“This second chapter of our training program marks a significant milestone in our mission to uplift Filipino talent. As we envisioned, this session provides aspiring technicians with the essential tools and practical experience they need to succeed in today’s competitive landscape. By focusing on real-world skills and industry-standard technology, TCL is dedicated to transforming learners into professionals who will strengthen our workforce and lead the future of the industry,” says Joseph Cernitchez, TCL Brand Manager.

This initiative further solidifies the strategic partnership between TCL and TESDA. As a dedicated industry partner, TCL has utilized this program to establish vital employment pipelines, ensuring that technical training leads directly to career opportunities. By prioritizing high-level, hands-on experience, we are providing learners with the essential foundation required to successfully launch their professional HVAC careers.

TESDA Center Administrator Mr. Eugene P. Agcaoili expressed, “We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to TCL for partnering with RTC-NCR to make this training possible. This collaboration is a strong example of what public-private partnerships can achieve. Creating meaningful opportunities for skills development and contributing to the growth and competitiveness of the Filipino workforce.”

From Skills to Success

The second installment of the TCL Training Program successfully hosted twenty-five (25) motivated trainees at the dedicated TCL-TESDA Center, located within the flagship TESDA RTC-NCR facility. Over the course of three days, the curriculum was strategically divided into two key categories: lecture and hands-on training. Each session combined comprehensive technical lecture with intensive hands-on training, covering the essential pillars of installation, repair, and maintenance.

The program was further enriched by the presence of the TCL Product and Service teams, who shared their deep expertise and practical insights directly with the participants.

Students under TCL’s Air Conditioning Training Program gained hands-on experience as they worked on TCL split-type air conditioning units during their practical learning sessions.

To further strengthen its enrollment-to-employment initiative, TCL connected students aspiring to become technicians or future TCL dealers with its internal team and authorized dealers, creating pathways to potential employment and business opportunities.

The training program extended beyond standard maintenance to focus on the specialized functions and technical specifications that define TCL products. A core component of the training included practical sessions on TCL’s smart technology, such as the TCL Home App and Voice Command features. By mastering these proprietary innovations, learners are better equipped to service modern, connected households that set TCL apart from other brands.

TCL partner B2B dealer Firstar, led by Pika Lee, also attended the three-day training session to announce the learner profiling initiative scheduled on the final day. By the third day, the program transitioned into a formal evaluation and mini job fair, offering the learners  a unique platform for professional assessment. This initiative aimed to pinpoint high-potential individuals and open doors for long-term employment.

The program culminated in a certificate awarding ceremony, marking the learners' official transition into the workforce. This certification validates their newly acquired mastery of TCL technology and serves as a direct pathway to career opportunities at different authorized service centers nationwide.

“At TCL, we are dedicated to investing in the people who keep the industry moving. It’s been a privilege to support the upskilling of our Filipino technicians through this program. While this session has ended, our commitment has not — stay tuned for even more training opportunities as we continue to inspire greatness and build the future of technical excellence together,”  Cernitchez exclaims.
