Ayala Foundation, Huawei scale up efforts towards building sustainable communities

Ayala Foundation Inc. (AFI) and Huawei Technologies Philippines Inc. held a virtual signing ceremony today to mark another milestone in their purposeful partnership aimed to provide digital education to Filipinos and building sustainable and resilient communities, with the long-term goal of contributing to Philippine nation-building. 

At the event, AFI Senior Director for Social Development Joanna Maria Duarte, Huawei Philippines Vice President Daniel Guo and Huawei Philippines Director for Globe Telecom Zeh Zhang inked a Memorandum of Understanding to formalize the partnership between AFI and Huawei. The collaboration coincides with the celebration of AFI's 60th anniversary with the theme: "Faith in the Filipino – 60 Years of Partnerships in Nation-building."

Manila HipHop Festival Brings Rap Culture At Circuit Makati

It is undeniably a fact that we have now our own Hip Hop community and culture here in the Philippines, we used to just follow the influential American Hip Hop decades ago as we have loved their music. Now after so many years, we have now nurtured our own and even made our own hip hop and rap icons which are still popular today. In celebration for the music, the ApoDrop production brings the biggest names for a event that will bring music, fun, and culture together through the MNL Hip Hop Festival.

Happening at the Circuit Makati Concert Grounds, the concert will happen on November 30, 2018 from 2PM to 2AM. With 30 local Hip Hop artist on its roster, it is the biggest Hip Hop event in the country that will also deliver the message of Filipino culture  arts and environmentalism though lyrical poetry. There will also be 3 HipHop DJs  and 7 Side Activities that will happen in the event making sure that the fun never stops at the festival. 

No more ‘burning of midnight oil’ for studes in Misamis Oriental

Thanks to free solar-powered lamps, hundreds of learners in Misamis Oriental can now extend their study time without burning the midnight oil.

Under the “Ilaw ng Pangarap Mo, Sagot Ko” project, the Department of Education (DepEd) Misamis Oriental Division has generated enough funds through various activities to provide solar-powered lamps in 368 homes that are either un-energized or are in remote and off-grid areas in Misamis Oriental.

According to DepEd Misamis Oriental Schools Division Superintendent Cherry Limbaco, division personnel and teachers organized a rummage sale and sold second-hand clothing and products. They also offered fresh vegetables and fruits at the Schools Division Office and at various schools. This fundraising campaign has lasted from October to December 2015.
