Smartphone Powered Movies To Be Showcased At The Huawei Film Awards

Who would have thought that eventually we can actually have a film festival which is made of films shot using a smartphones. As many models have upgraded their mobile photography and videography capacity and functions, they can now rival complex camera set up that has been used in films and commercials.

Huawei is one of those brands whose flagship model has risen beyond the usual camera capacity to give those perfect quality shots. Thus the Huawei Film Awards was made, a grand showcase of the gift and talent of Filipinos. Alongside several videos aired that day, like the short films from Pepe Diokno and Sid Maderazo, both famous directors in the Philippines, and the music video of singer-songwriter Reese Lansangan, was the official launch of Huawei’s CSR documentary by filmmaker and humanitarian, Lyka Gonzalez.

Bigger and better Get Reel Film Festival 2020 now accepts entries

World-class leather accessories brand McJim Classic Leather brings back Get Reel Film Festival 2020, a bigger and more challenging edition of last year’s successful Get Reel Mobile Shorts Film Festival.

This time around, the competition is accepting entries that touch on the theme, “Filipino Values Beyond Generations.”

The 2020 Get Reel Film Festival is upping the ante with two brand-new categories: the Main Competition for professional and amateur filmmakers using digital cameras and the Brand Digital Ads category for innovative ads for McJim Classic Leather. These will complement the Mobile Shorts Competition for users of mobile phone cameras.

2018 NDAA Digital Art Awards Winners Revealed!

The 2018 NDAA Honors Digital Arts Winners at the NDAA Awards Night Pasig City, 26 February 2019 — The National Digital Arts Awards (NDAA) honored the Winners of the 2018 NDAA during its awards night, held at the Jose Rizal Room, Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Manila. Since 2013, the National Digital Arts Award has been recognizing the deserving Filipino digital artists who showcase their exemplary creations and world-class talent on six digital categories, namely Digital Art in Print, Character Design, Animation, Digital Short Movie, Website usage experience and Drone Movie experience. A panel of renowned award judges — which includes Ali Silao, Avel Bacudio, Jobert Monteras, JM Matienzo,Vincent Aseo and internationally acclaimed short-film director Arvin Bellarmino, Jaime "Joel" Santos and Alvin Tan selected the winners of this year's Php 3.0 million worth of cash and prizes.
