A good day - a GDay - is the theme of Globe’s 917 celebration this year and it’s about giving back to their loyal customers through exciting rewards and surprises, so they can feel empowered as individuals and be inspired to help uplift fellow Filipinos’ lives through care and compassion.

0917 is Globe’s iconic and original prefix, known by many as the badge of a Globe subscriber. What used to be celebrated on September 17th has grown to be more than a month-long series of 917 festivities to express gratitude and give back to Globe customers.

15 worthwhile causes to support using Globe Rewards

Globe Rewards now has 15 non-government organizations, charitable institutions, and foundations in its program roster, making it quick and easy for Globe and TM subscribers to provide meaningful support to worthwhile causes at this time of great need.

Globe customers raise P3.4M donations via Rewards points for 1Q21

Globe continues to engage its customers to support organizations and advocacies of their choice through Globe Rewards as the pandemic drags on. In the first quarter of 2021 alone, customers have donated P3.4 million worth of Rewards points to help those in need. 

The donations will help extend medical support to 55 indigent cancer patients and to provide meals, accommodations, and personal protective equipment (PPE) for frontliners at the Philippine General Hospital.  It will also support elderly priests and brothers, help facilitate the training of mental health frontline responders, aid in the purchase of polio vaccines for children under the care of Rotary Foundation, and support the child welfare and disaster response programs of ABS-CBN Bantay Bata.

Part of the funds raised will also provide 462 public school teachers with connectivity under the Brigada ng Ayala program, and 51 marine conservation kits and learning materials to youth leaders.

Globe Rewards equip frontliners with medical support through points donation

Globe calls on its customers to play a part in the fight against Covid and lend their support to frontliners by donating their Globe Rewards points to the PGH Medical Foundation, Inc. (PGH-MFI), as hospitals and other medical facilities report full capacity status due to the alarming surge of Covid cases in the country. 

With one peso equivalent to one Rewards point, Globe will be turning over 100 percent of the funds collected which, in turn, will be used to provide much needed support for our healthcare frontliners. 

To date, Globe Rewards was able to accumulate Php 22 million in funds which were used to procure 8,333 sets of personal protective equipment (PPEs) and frontliner supplies composed of caps, gowns, face masks, goggles, gloves, aprons, disinfectants and thermoscanners. A portion of these funds were also utilized not just for Covid health workers, but also to provide medical assistance to 704 indigent cancer patients.

Help alleviate hunger through Globe Rewards and GCash

The National Capital Region (NCR), Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal are once again under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). For many marginalized families, this poses another challenge in making ends meet and increases the risk of widespread hunger.

Given this, Globe continues to encourage customers to join its initiatives to help address hunger among at-risk families especially with the limitations in movement brought about by another COVID-19 surge. Customers may donate to Globe’s partner organizations: Walang Iwanan Alliance (WIA), Rise Against Hunger (RAH), and Gawad Kalinga’s Kusina ng Kalinga (KnK) via Globe Rewards or GCash.

Walang Iwanan Alliance is a citizen-led initiative to build a platform that unites all efforts to mitigate or end hunger in the most vulnerable communities across the country, especially those deeply affected by the pandemic. Its goal is to set up a vast network of anti-hunger advocates and the corresponding systems that can allow quicker and more effective responses where hunger arises.

Video streaming and online gaming have become more popular and in demand among Filipinos ever since social distancing and staying at home have become the norm. Customers are now looking for more options to enjoy games, watching their favorite series, movies, sports events, and many more.
