Pixar Animation Studios’ Bryn Imagire inspires young Filipino creatives

To celebrate the release of Disney-Pixar’s “Incredibles 2” in the Philippines, Pixar Animation Studios Shading Art Director Bryn Imagire visited Manila and led an animation workshop.

Besides talking about the evolution of the animation process from 2004’s “The Incredibles” to this year’s “Incredibles 2,” Imagire, who has been with Pixar Animation Studios since 1996, also showed the students the process of creating images for the film, including how base costume designs for major characters are tweaked to create costumes for extras or background characters. Imagire serves as both shading art director and costume designer for “Incredibles 2.” “Usually, it takes about three hours to render one scene,” she said.

Incredibles 2 - Worth The Wait After 14 Years?

I would remember that the first movie came out while I am still in high school. Pixar was already making waves every year with their animations and it was thought to be a cliche to have a superhero animated film. But as it proved to be a worthy movie not just for kids but also for everyone in the family.

Now after 14 years, a sequel has finally been answered by Disney and Pixar. This highly anticipated second part Incredibles 2 will take off where the last film ended, fighting the underminer. But of course with that long gap, there are huge improvements in terms of graphics, design, and technology which brings more intense action to its characters.

Now that they are back in the city, the only problem is that they are not considered as heroes, rather supers are considered illegal. Thus the family are forced to not to use their powers or else face the consequences. However with the help of Deavor Corporation, Elastigirl/ Helen Parr becomes their model hero to get support and lead the cause for legalization of supers. However, Mr. Incredible/Bob Parr struggles to be a home dad to his children. Amidst all these, a new villain rises with the name of Screenslaver.

Elastigirl Takes the Lead in Disney-Pixar's "Incredibles 2"

Helen Parr, known in the Super world as Elastigirl (voiced by Holly Hunter), hung up her supersuit to raise the family with husband Bob, leaving their crime-fighting days behind them. But when she’s tapped to lead a campaign to bring the Supers back into the spotlight in Disney-Pixar’s “Incredibles 2,” she finds she can still bend, stretch and twist herself into any shape needed to solve the trickiest of mysteries. In short, she’s still got it.

Jack-Jack Powers Up in Disney-Pixar's "Incredibles 2"

Jack-Jack Parr, the baby of the family in Disney-Pixar’s new action-adventure “Incredibles 2”, likes to sit back with a bottle and a good story. Well-versed in gibberish with a penchant for throwing food, Jack-Jack seems like a typical toddler, but he just might turn out to be the most powerful Parr in the household.

The Family of Super Heroes Return in "Incredibles 2"

As Disney-Pixar’s “The Incredibles” adventure came to an edge-of-your-seat finale, Syndrome was foiled—thanks to baby Jack-Jack and an ill-advised cape—and his jet exploded into a firey ball, destroying the Parr family home. But the family was more bonded than ever; Violet showed off her new-found confidence, and Dash discovered that second place would do just fine. It seemed like a happily-ever-after ending until someone called the Underminer declared “war on peace and happiness.”
