Incredibles 2 - Worth The Wait After 14 Years?

I would remember that the first movie came out while I am still in high school. Pixar was already making waves every year with their animations and it was thought to be a cliche to have a superhero animated film. But as it proved to be a worthy movie not just for kids but also for everyone in the family.

Now after 14 years, a sequel has finally been answered by Disney and Pixar. This highly anticipated second part Incredibles 2 will take off where the last film ended, fighting the underminer. But of course with that long gap, there are huge improvements in terms of graphics, design, and technology which brings more intense action to its characters.

Now that they are back in the city, the only problem is that they are not considered as heroes, rather supers are considered illegal. Thus the family are forced to not to use their powers or else face the consequences. However with the help of Deavor Corporation, Elastigirl/ Helen Parr becomes their model hero to get support and lead the cause for legalization of supers. However, Mr. Incredible/Bob Parr struggles to be a home dad to his children. Amidst all these, a new villain rises with the name of Screenslaver.

References to the first movie were shown and given a slight mirroring to induce nostalgia. Characters like Dicker and Edna Mode are also present here with significant roles in the movie. Definitely more detailed in terms of design and a debut of a vehicle that the family will be using in their crime-busting.

Incredibles 2 stars Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell, Huck Milner, and Samuel L. Jackson.  Now showing in cinemas which includes the pre-show short Bao.

Quick Short Review: Bao

Bao tells the story of a dumpling that came into life to a family. The Chinese delicacy that turns into a child might me a little freaky to some, but the animation of the character was so cute, you forget it is a walking food. It may not be the best short for me but it was one of the most heartwarming shorts of Pixar.

Deliberation time kids!

Show summary: Incredibles Assemble!

Technical Effects: 4 out of 5 stars (I felt that there is technically no new innovations in terms of cinema effects, probably with so many cliche moments)

Plot: 4 out of 5 stars (It now ventures into a more serious story line with sophisticated dialogue. Made me think for a while )

Acting and Actors: 3 out of 5 stars (Since the gap, character voices did changed a lot as well, a little weird feeling but tolerable)

Pros:  Comedy, Production design, dialogues, Jack-jack!
Cons: unnecessary parts, fast resolution

Music and Soundtracks:  4 out for 5 stars (great scoring but I would like to have a modern soundtrack)

Overall: Rating 4.4 out of 5 stars (It was long overdue but indeed worth the wait as  it reveals more action for the family, now please make another one soon!)
