“Insidious: Out of the Further” takes over the box office with a record-breaking 51.7-M PHP, the biggest horror opening day of all time in PH

"Insidious: Out of the Further” scared up a record-breaking opening at the local box office, setting a new record for biggest opening day of all time for a horror movie in the Philippines. 

Horror fans flocked to cinemas, including for sold-out midnight screenings, to be among the first to watch the latest installment in the cult favorite “Insidious” franchise. On its first day, “Insidious: Out of the Further” generated 51,682,703 PHP, beating the record set by its predecessor, “Insidious: The Red Door,” in 2023, and making “Out of the Further” the record-holder for the biggest opening day for the “Insidious” franchise.

This was announced today by Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc., distributor of “Insidious: Out of the Further.”

Director Jacob Chase takes the horror to new heights in “Insidious: Out of the Further” In PH cinemas August 19, including midnight screenings

Original filmmakers turned producers James Wan and Leigh Whannell pass the torch to director Jacob Chase for Insidious: Out of the Further. The latest film in the Insidious franchise tells the tale through the lens of a new family, with a new threat redefining the true horrors of The Further.

In Insidious: Out of the Further Gemma (Amelia Eve, The Haunting of Hill House), a young mother raising her daughter in her childhood home, discovers that she can dip into The Further. The Further is the dark realm where souls wander lost. When something more sinister starts to visit Gemma, she realizes that The Further runs both ways, and she can bring items in the realm to the physical world. Demons take advantage of her ability and crawl into the real world, sowing horror and destruction.
