"Kwaresma" Unfolds This Easter Season With Sharon Cuneta and John Arcilla

This May, Reality Entertainment will be presenting a new horror-thriller KUWARESMA which is made in partnership with Globe Studios and Cignal Entertainment. Starring Sharon Cuneta, and John Arcilla, the film is set to bring chills and scares next month. Building the narrative story written by Katski Flores and Erik Matti, the former leads in direction and has not made a horror film since Seklusyon.

It is also a first time for Sharon to be paired with John Arcilla for a film and the trailers show their dark and twisted characters in a very odd family situation. Despite both having hectic schedules, they were able to find time to shoot for the film. It took them a month shooting in Baguio City as production requires a lot of preparations, make up, and props to make the scenes more immersive and thrilling.

REEL DEAL: Heneral Luna REVIEW

We has seen a lot of historical films of heroes and some were good but there are some who are too commercial and lost its touch, but Heneral Luna is something I consider a great work of art in film. We have already countless number of films about Bonifacio and Rizal, but do we mind to see the other heroes who played a major part in the road to independence?

That is where we see Antonio Luna who is the general of the armed forces of the Philippines. The brother of the famed painter Juan Luna, and also one of the key personalities in the liberation from Spain (which is short-lived with the arrival of the Americans). He was portrayed with all sides, being the brave general of war but also a hot-headed leader which led many to despise him.

Heneral Luna went into a lot of disputes with his stand, he does not want to be under the Americans and wants to unify and strengthen the army of the republic. John Arcilla played the part effectively and with also an ensemble cast that brought conspiracy and betrayal in different ways. It is also a shout out to the present time with the mentality and situation looks familiar to the present state of the country.
