Kim Ji Soo Unleashes His Inner Rock Star in Bicol

Not a lot of people know that apart from being an award-winning actor, Kim Ji Soo is also a talented singer. The Korean star showcased his singing skills at the recent Musika Para sa Bikol: Himig ng Bayanihan, a benefit concert held in Legazpi City last December 6. 

Rocking high-cut leather boots by internationally renowned footwear brand Palladium, plus stylish pieces from designer Iñigo Villegas, Ji Soo unleashed his inner rock star singing crowd favorites like Coldplay’s “Yellow” and The Calling’s “Wherever You Will Go.” He also had a duet with model and recording artist Bey; they sang the popular hit song “APT,” complete with choreography, much to the crowd’s delight.

Kim Ji Soo Wins Outstanding Actor at The Ima Wa Ima Asian International Film Festival

South Korean actor Kim Ji Soo has just won the “Outstanding International Actor in Cross-Cultural Series” award at the 2024 Ima Wa Ima Asian International Film Festival. He received the award at the film festival’s Entertainment Special Awards Night held at the  Sumiyoshi Main Hall in Osaka, Japan on December 1. 

This honor recognizes Ji Soo’s outstanding performance in the hit GMA series Abot Kamay Na Pangarap, where his portrayal of a doctor and the love interest of lead star Jillian Ward showcased his acting abilities, chemistry with his partner, and professionalism, no matter where he is.

“I really appreciate GMA Network and my management team in the Philippines, especially ms. Kath for the opportunities given to me that allowed me to grow as an actor.” he said in his acceptance speech. “I couldn't have done this without the support of my family, fans and talented co-stars and the amazing team I work with. Their hard work and dedication made this all possible. And lastly, my wonderful fans and supporters who have always been there along the way. I wouldn't be here today without all of you.”

Kim Ji Soo Nominated at The Ima Wa Ima Asian International Film Festival

South Korean actor Kim Ji Soo has been nominated at the Ima Wa Ima Asian International Film Festival and Entertainment Special Awards 2024 for the Outstanding International Actor in a Cross-Cultural Series award for his remarkable performance in the hit GMA show Abot Kamay Na Pangarap.

Kim Ji Soo, who made his acting debut on stage in 2009 and starred in several K-Dramas, surprised everyone when he made a special appearance on the GMA primetime show Black Rider in June 2024.  After that, it didn’t take long before he became part of another show on GMA, the afternoon medical drama Abot Kamay Na Pangarap. 

Playing a doctor and the love interest of the character of lead star Jillian Ward, Ji Soo was able to showcase his acting talent in the show through a variety of scenes, from dramatic to romantic, and even action. He may have joined the long-running show just last August 2024 but his lovable character and onscreen chemistry with Jillian proved to be a hit with the show’s fans. In fact, he made it all the way to the show’s finale, his character ending up with the protagonist. 

Korean Actor Kim Ji Soo Shows Hands-On Support in Typhoon Carina Relief Operations Along With GMA Kapuso Foundation

Kim Ji Soo, known for his roles in popular Korean dramas and also recently attended the GMA Gala 2024 where he grabbed the Red Carpet Scene Stealer award, expressed that this was his first time witnessing the aftermath of flooding in the Philippines. Despite the challenges posed by the typhoon, he chose to stay and lend a helping hand, showcasing his dedication and empathy for those in need.

‘Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo’ Star Kim Ji Soo Debuts in PH Showbiz, Joins ‘Black Rider’ Cast

South Korean actor Kim Ji Soo is set to make Philippine debut as a cast member of GMA 7’s hit primetime series “Black Rider.” Best known for his memorable and lovable roles in popular K-dramas such as “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo” as the 14th Prince, “Strong Girl Bong-soon,” and “My First First Love,” Ji Soo will portray Adrian Park, a half-Filipino, half-Korean professional killer.

A teaser video recently released on social media showcases Kim Ji Soo’s impressive handgun skills in a scene alongside Yassi Pressman’s character, Vanessa Romero. The clip also highlights a dramatic encounter with the show’s antagonists, led by Calvin Magallanes, played by Jon Lucas. The teaser has already generated significant buzz among fans eagerly awaiting his appearance on the show.

Kim Ji Soo’s dedication to his craft is evident as he continues to improve his English and learn Filipino, immersing himself in his character and the local culture as soon as he lands here in the country.
